  1. Dark Souls Remastered I've cleared my backlog and so it's finally time to jump into this. My only other experience with this sort of game is Elden Ring, and whilst I know the two games are likely to be significantly different, I think I enjoy that core experience, so I should be fine with it. I'm playing on Switch, which is probably not the ideal way to experience it, but you know...portability.

  2. Moero Chronicle Hyper (Switch) Dungeon crawler RPG with monster girls, part of the Genkai Tokki series which includes Monster Monpiece, Moero Chronicle, Moero Crystal and Seven Pirates H. The story is pretty simple and silly. Monster Girls are attacking humans so Io, your character, embarks on a quest to find the only thing that can restore peace, the purify fabric, which turns out to be a pair of pure white panties, because why the hell not, also Io gets chosen by his village to go out and try to save the world not because he's strong or has a set of special skills, but simply because no one gives a shit if he comes back alive or gets torn to shreds out there. There's some decent serious moments here and there and some neat interactions between different characters, but overall it's pure silliness. Gameplay is OK, nothing out of the ordinary for a dungeon crawler, it's acceptable for a game where the main draw is the characters. Until you get to the epilogue. The epilogue is where things go to hell, after completing the main story you get keys to unlock sealed areas in each of the six regions, there you'll find stronger enemies and special bosses. Thing is, these areas just feel cheap, tons of enemies that can wipe your party in one hit, enemies with AOE paralysis attacks (getting your party into paralysed status is an instant game over), bosses with tons of HP and AOE attacks, traps, one-way doors that force you to retrace your steps, annoying stuff all around. Also, the game doesn't have checkpoints of any kind, if you wipe you'll have to reload your save. Something which I forgot and it cost me hours of progress. To make it worse, you can only save in town or in specific save points inside dungeons, really wish you could just save whenever, that'd make the epilogue dungeons more tolerable. Overall though, I had fun with it, there were some characters I quite liked though fans of more MonMosu style characters might be disappointed since all characters here are more human than monster. To give it a grade: Main game: B+ Epilogue: F

  3. I went with a current GPU instead of waiting for the 40 series SPECIFICALLY so I wouldn't have to upgrade my PSU. But this fucking card is just so hungry! Twice so far since installing the RTX 3080 my PC just shutdown and immediately started back up again, as if power got cut off for a second. I can't be 100% sure it's due to transient power spikes that the PSU can't handle but it's my best guess right now and this PSU was actually on sale for lower than the 1000W model so I felt like I had to go for it while it won't hurt my wallet too much. At this point I'm willing to take the loss if it means not having to troubleshoot beyond this. I probably should've gone for higher than 850W in the first place tbh but I just had to have a white PSU to go with everything else. At least Corsair sells some colored, sleeved PSU cables that are compatible with this model so I can always get some of those later on... edit: I will not let this setback ruin my white theme, goddammit! Can't do anything about the PSU itself but it's in the backchamber and will only be visible from the back of the PC. But I won't have filthy black cables be visible as they snake their way to my precious white components! ...and rereading everything I just wrote I now wish I had gone with a different color-theme because holy fuck this all sounds so wrong...
