  1. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/12/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-soundtrack-nominated-for-2-ifmca/ Now that I've seen this, I've been not only thinking of picking up the soundtrack, but playing the game itself. Anyone play it, and is it any good?
    1. Akuam4n

      Akuam4n

The game is a tad on the long side for what it is (IMO) and it may seem to drag a bit to some people, but I loved it. It had some really great levels, and for once there is an actual good story with a Castlevania game. It also has a fantastic twist.

The soundtrack is superb as well.

I played it a bit at a friend's place, it's not bad at all.

Nothing new or very interesting though either, but that's just me being nitpicky.

  2. Just found out from afternoon BBC broadcast that Mubarak has stepped down. Whooooo! Wonder what's next for Egypt?

He got replaced by a military governor. We'll see how it works out.

  3. Liberate yourself from the madness. http://ca.kotaku.com/ Special thank you to masonvd on Twitter for pointing this out!

Awesome. Thank you. :-) The article and commenting are still...uh, new? But at least I can browse the articles and see notifications.

You can see the articles in the old format too. Right click and copy the article links from the old version of the site and add ca. to the front of them.

    3. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

You could browse articles in the new style via blog view. This just helps with notifications (which I'm sure is being fixed anyways.)

  4. I like the concept of Simon's Quest (along with the plot), where the game isn't mainly a platformer and instead is more of an adventure game. Unfortunately, the piss-poor and rusty translation when it was released abroad crippled it. It didn't help that Akamatsu deliberately designed the NPCs to give either vague answers or just be plain liars, which was another facet lost in translation. Also, holy water + Dracula = makes for easiest boss battle ever.
  5. Nice way to spit on and smear your competition while they're down, NYT. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/24/business/media/24latimes.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

The NY Times is only fit for birdcages so what do you expect?

  6. For all you new-design dislikers (myself included)… there is this. http://kotaku.com/classic But… it's just not the same. Retreat… to RSS land! http://kotaku.com/vip.xml

Also, I'm pretty pissed that Readability (or Safari Reader, for that matter) does not work on any of the articles anymore. Argh.

      Hey man, isn't that dope-a-mine?

  8. One of the top reasons why I love the Genesis (even though I wasn't even alive for its release): Comix Zone. Goddamn, this game was so advanced for its time. It's easily at the top of my favorite Genesis games, even if it is hard as hell.
  9. You guys are streaming the Metal Gear Solid 4? Then who is set us up the bomb?

  10. What the heck's happened to Gyaruson? Did he leave all of a sudden?

He probably left after the split.

  11. I just found this sweet MIDI piece while searching for some Roland SC-55 demos on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J28s6oz-yiA Hey, say what you will about MIDI and its craptastic guitar imitations, but I think this rendition sounds pretty neat.
  12. Damn. I was really hoping for maybe a Riddler appearance… I'll just wait and see what Nolan does with these two characters, I guess.
  13. I'm hoping that it's just the online portions of the 3DS (upcoming 3DSWare, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection) that gets locked down, and not the actual game carts themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo did a total lockdown of the device, though. :-/ Also, speaking of Nintendo Wi-Fi… it's just one code per device now! So instead of being chained to our game carts for online code trading, we're chained to our individual handhelds instead!
  14. Aaaargh, I just read Luke Plunkett's review, and he brought me to a rage face. RAGE! I mean, I'm not a fan of the "direct control" scheme of Telltale's recent games, but it's not bad to the point of being unusable… While personally, I prefer point-and-click because it only requires one hand to do everything (leaving the other hand free to do… ahem… other things ), I wouldn't mind for Telltale to add an option in the future to switch between the two.
