Question for those who are native English speakers: are "hence" and "conniving" still in contemporary use?

Oh, I know conniving is usually followed by an insult. The way I was using it was "conniving low-life".

Conniving sees a lot of use here in Ireland and I've used hence quite a bit in my life hence I'd say it's not archaic just yet but I'd say it's on it's way.
