They did onslaught mode just fine. They would bring that back, and put the zombie spin on it. Complete the objectives, and zombies are in your way. Just limit the vehicles or maps. You might not even have to limit vehicles, something like a plane would be pretty useless.

alpha is alpha for a reason. BF2142 was a good game, but nowhere near the best of the series.

IIRC, they did a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx so you find out what happened to those people.
