Just remember that spiders are not insects, which means the pesticide needed is different than what you would use for aphids, thrip, ants, or mosquitos. So, yeah, they might come inside.

Whatever my landlord used wiped out all other spiders, so I think he did use the right one.

I hate spiders and will seek them out and kill them whenever possible. I especially like it when I find them in the bathtub/sink/toilet cause then I get to turn on the water and watch them freak the fuck out as they slowly sink to their watery grave.
