    Suddenly the internet echo chamber is crying out about problems with the GTX970/980. I'm not sure what is real life or what is fantasy in this case.

      One: Notable number of coil whine.

      Two: VRAM usage can go to shit at around 3.5 GB. It either caps out right there or if it uses the full 4 GB, your performance will take a dump.

       

      For the coil whine, there are enough cases to warrant RMAs. For the VRAM issue, it may be a firmware issue or a hardware issue.

       

      I think most of the problems are with the 970. The 980 doesn't seem to have as much problems.
