"Ms Barnes, 35, had accepted her pet was a pit-bull type" - From linked article. Also not really mass scale because as an illegal pet there shouldn't be many of them. And they're illegal for a reason.

While I agree with Masterdex that killing a dog because of its breed is unfair to a dog that has done nothing wrong, the real reason pitbulls are dangerous is not because of the unpredictability (all dogs can be unpredictable) nor the history of the breed, its because the breed of dog (and a few others) have a locking jaw. This means, if this dog, if things go wrong, will bite and it can physically kill because it cannot let go, no matter how hard people try. I don't think it justifies th...

I don't think it justifies the eradication of a breed, but the reason goes beyond behavior history of a breed.
