Started a hardcore run through New Vegas. So far, it isn't as bad as they say, but now I'm paranoid to hell about everything being able to kill me in less than three hits.

It's more like Hassle Mode really. The hardest part is making sure your companions don't kill themselves or piss off a deathclaw that you were trying to sneak past.
