Well, you're free to charge for almost anything... it's just a matter of whether or not you find a sucker! And some wonder why businesses complain there's no skilled labour out there - they're so unwilling to hire and train new people, they just shop for the perfect candidate instead!

At the company I work for, we do not like to use interns, as there have been so many lawsuits that are arising from "unpaid work". Since I'm in California, the laws work against business. So, the risk is too high to even consider interns, much less having someone pay us to work.
