  1. I tried installing Linux recently now it is supposed to be fool-proof after not getting on with it many years ago. From not recognising my keyboard, not recognising my trackpad and borking my bootloader so I can't even boot from a live USB now - never mind install it I don't love windows, but I can't love Linux.
  2. I got two endings for The Talos Principle (no chance of getting all the stars for the third ending). I thought it was OK, a bit "I'm 14 and this is deep" and there were a few too many puzzles with too little variation so I got a bit bored by the end. I do also have the DLC but played the first level and it was so convoluted rather than just challenging i turned it off with no intention of going back.
  3. Don't worry, there is no chance on Nintendo missing out on a opportunity to re-sell their customers something.
  4. I hope your optimism is rewarded
  5. I've been playing a newer mario RPG. and have finally finished Mario and Luigi: Brothership. When I first started I enjoyed it, and wondered about the middling reviews. I may have kept that opinion if it hadn't massively outstayed it's welcome. I was very ready for it to be over by about two thirds of the way through. Nothing was particularly bad, just very average and the writing isn't as good as it used to be to keep you interested.
  6. I have felt this about a lot of games I've played but not articulated it. Thanks!
  7. gosh, Do you really feel things could come to that. I can't imagine. though I also can't imagine things getting any better. It seems the people who want things to stay the same or get worse are so m uch more effective than the ones that want things to get better.
  8. I think proof positive of extraterrestrial life is not going to be as exciting as I want it to be. I'm not saying I want to have little green men landing on the Whitehouse lawn but a rover physically seeing something incontrovertible rather than a "we can't explain this chemical signature in another way" would be more satisfying.
  9. Hope you manage to get hold of one with all the issues, else that's a lot of games to sit on your shelf!
  10. Probably not a game I'd play but interesting Nintendo got an exclusive from Fromsoft. I hope it means they are going to court third parties for big titles and not just rely on first party and indies - though being underpowered will always cause problems on that front. UK prices are £395.99 (514 USD) and £429.99 (558 USD) with Mario Kart World for comparison. I don't think I'll be buying it at launch which is a first in a while from me for a Nintendo console. Maybe when the next mainline Zelda comes out with the Switch 2 PRO/OLED.
  11. I've played all the Assassin's Creed games and it is fairly obvious they are trying to sideline the modern story. It wasn't in Mirage, and the last few it's not really gone anywhere and more been about the modern character's interaction with the in-animus story that the modern world narrative moving forward. It's honestly just a distraction at this point. I wish they would wrap it up and be done with it. Also the in-animus stories aren't related so there is no reason to play the all/play them in order you should just pick pit the ones that appeal to you. Also, kind of antithetical to this thread. I don't know if I'll be able to play AC:Shadows. My only PC is a laptop which doesn't run as well as the specs would suggest so no chance I could play a game on it and I haven't been tempted to buy a current gen console yet and don't see that changing. I think it's one of the few games I feel like I'm missing out on. Maybe I'll look at streaming it one day but that would have to be a lot better than last time I tried it which was admittedly a while ago.
  12. I think the Wii U debacle made them leery of coming up with anything too clever
  13. Hard to form many opinions from the scant information but I like the look of it. The only thing putting me off buying it at launch is if it's LCD as I might then be tempted to wait for the OLED version as I almost certainly wouldn't buy both. Hopefully they would have a lite and premium model at launch though I wouldn't place any bets on that.
  14. cool if it goes the other way too so on easy mode they stand around taking anti-emetics.
  15. Nice. Was it a tough decision to go for electric?
