    if i buy a coffee machine from amsterdam on ebay.co.uk will i pay any extra taxes/duties when it's shipped here to the UK?

      Provided it's a sale to you as a consumer then you should not have to pay VAT on the sale and provided they are based in the EU you should not have to pay any excise duty on the item (provided it is below the £70,000 threshold. (If it's over that... DAMN!)

       

      Customs might still open it to check for contraband but I don't think you should be charged.
