    Is the paper/print quality of hardback manga usually nicer than paperbacks, or is it just the cover?

      It's mainly paper quality I think. This in turn kind of affects the print quality since different paper will take printing differently. Another thing to consider is book size. Full sized Berserk is something to behold.
