  1. The Longest Journey is what I'm playing on my laptop at the moment - though I'm not particularly enjoying it so haven't played it in months. I have no idea what's going on in the screenshot.
  2. is it the same stargate where they go through those ring shaped portals? was the original film set in the future or an alternate present day?
  3. I hope it's good as I've never seen it and no one admitted to having seen it when I asked in the Layton thread! I think Luke looks really young in the picture - I don't remember him being that young in any of the games.
  4. I think it is a bit dodgy to get definitions of words from sci fi because they often make up words based on current real words, or use them differently to sound futuristic.
  5. The game, Marian, isn't actually out yet, but fingers crossed.
  6. I've had a look on there, but there are a lot of systems and a lot of games for each system. I guess that means I'm lazy! Google was useless - lots of dusturbing pictures of old war injuries for some reason. Oh well, though I still remember it from all those years ago it's not like it haunts my dreams.
  7. it was one of the computery type ones a maybe a commodore or a specturm or amstrad. I think it was an amstrad? Sorry, it was my cousin's. I think it was dark grey coloured? I'm sure that's helps(!)
  8. Ladyhawke. It was entirely unentertaining. I am always wary of eighties movies, but I at least thought it would be kitschy or so-bad-it's-good. Unfortunately it was just bad.
  9. obviously Birdo should be the queen.
  10. Does anyone know a game that was from the late eighties, probably. I think was set in a rectory (or a least a gothic house) and one of the enemies was a rat and along the bottom ran a timer that looked like a fuse leading to a round bomb. It had similar gameplay to Jet Set Willy.
  11. I'm 6' but people always assume I'm shorter and some people actually think I'm lying when I say how tall I am.
  12. That game is £200! I can't answer today's question as I've never completed a game more than once I have enough of a gaming backlog without replaying stuff. I'm the same with books and films too.
  13. I just got nuts and bolts. It had better be good.
  14. damn you and your logic. That makes much more sense. I still wonder about the TV seeming smaller though. I definitely didn't imagine that
  15. Sorry about the double post but the last one was a month ago so I hope you'll forgive me. I finished the third game and it is indeed my favourite. It didn't have so many of the 'here's the same puzzle but harder' padding that the others did and the story seemed to move a bit faster. Anyway, the real reason I came in here is slightly off topic, but I was wondering if anyone had seen the eternal diva film. It's on blu ray for £6 and I doubt it will ever be on TV so I was wondering if it's worth buying?
  16. I had a go on a 42" 3D TV and it made the screen seem tiny (I was a normal distance away). Is this usual? I wonder if it was the glasses which were in a stand giving a sort of tunnel effect. Maybe that's why the top screen is bigger than the bottom one as when you're using the 3D effect they seem the same size.
  17. Should I deface my lovely Moomin hardbacks with error correction stickers?

I can't decide which is worse, having stickers in it or loose sheets with the stickers on in it :(

  18. I know it's a bit late but just a quick point: the illegal Iraq war elicited the largest demonstration to take place in UK history. So yeah, they did protest about it.
  19. The only thing that bothers me about them is that I never get them. Just like a star on Kotaku. Then I get all bitter and twisted when I see totally banal posts getting upped. :'(
  20. I remember Jabez Clegg where they have that night. There's a possibility that I went but a lot of that is shrouded by time and alcohol!
  21. What night is that? I went to uni in Manchester - I wonder if it's one I went to... many years ago.
  22. Yes, we have both those meanings too, just we have the extra one as well.
  23. In this context it's a Welsh term (but in English) and can be used for anything that is lovely or gorgeous. attractive people are lush, "did you see him, he's well lush". A night out can be lush. Anything that is awesome is lush.
  24. I don't like to load something up for the first time and think '...where do I start?'. If it's customisable then it should start out simple and you can enable more features if and when you want them. As it is I am barely tempted to give it a try. It's lacking 'curb appeal' to borrow a phrase.
  25. Embarrassing compared to Diana Ross? You have to tell now!
