So can one of the Brits on this forum tell me why everyone hated Margaret Thatcher so much?

that's kind of proving my point - Section 28 was a thatcher law, cameron is pushing (against a lot of his party admittedly) for marriage equality, so it's not a reason to dislike the conservatives now. It's like people stil hating Germans because of the War.
They should have retrained miners into skilled manufacturing in the north, then we could have had an economy more like germany's. They have the skill/knowledge to command the premium an EU workforce costs at least in...

...the medium term. I also don't get the hate for LibDems, they are only a small part of the Government, but people are annoying that they've not been able to keep to their entire manifesto. Obviously that's impossible. They've managed to wield disproportionate power and mitigated what a lot of what lib/lab voters would have seen as the most right-wing tendencies of the Conservatives. I don't know what more people could have expected from them?

It's not a reason to dislike the Conservative party because they're still in 2013 pushing against marriage equality, even at their leaders behest? Their leaders opinion of which only recently, just before the GE, changed on what a "family" is. Yes she should have retrained the miners. And LibDems went back on some of their bigger policies, people are fine with some manifesto going, but even some of the coalition stuff went as well.
