  1. Dang it. First I buy Xcom on Steam the day before the PS3 version goes on sale for $5 less (I like having discs), now The Witcher 2 is on sale for about $4 less than I paid for it (also on sale) a few days ago. I might have to stop jumping at sales...

Yeah, I'm still newbish at this pc-gaming game. And obviously still sucking on the console teat, since I find the centralized nature of Steam. I'm a bit ashamed for it though, because I feel like I shouldn't be supporting games with DRM, but I convince myself that the cheap prices make it excusable, which is not totally a copout. I didn't know about all the physical copy goodies though. I'd definitely have opted for that instead had I known.

Steam DRM is generally considered a necessary evil, especially given all the good in return with Steamworks. Stuff like ubiDRM..not so good (though getting a bit better).

Yeah, they seem to have caved slightly, presumably under the pressure of bad press. Being so strongly against what them and Capcom were pulling off is what made me feel guilty about Steam purchasing, but it does seem to be a different story in terms of what they offer users, and how. I've come to terms with it... Says my Steam library.
