  1. Putting in a good ol' chunk of time on Sleeping Dogs. Been really great so far, the game looks nuts on PC, but the cutscene stutter drives me freaking crazy. Loving everything about it, from the driving to the shooting to the story to the buttery smooth FPS. Wee. I wanna get as close to 100% completion as I can.
  2. Was trying to get 100% on Sleeping Dogs achievements until I realized there's a few DLC ones. FFFFffff-

Don't think it's called off, just hasn't happened yet. I bought the game in a bundle on Amazon so I already have the Halloween one, don't have Year of the Snake.

Was it confirmed? I saw some speculation on reddit earlier today but nothing else.

My favorite is the original Shogun, but I think that's mostly a nostalgia thing. Rome was awesome too.

I've got Empire II, it's fun enough but I kinda prefer the macro side of things.

  9. LOL: UnityAnswers. Ask question, someone misreads it, they edit your question to fit their misreading, then answer it wrong. Every subsequent answer is also wrong. wut

    1. TheMightyEthan

      TheMightyEthan

Why can answerers edit the questions?

    2. RockyRan

      RockyRan

They say in the FAQ that it's to make it like a Wiki, since they want it to be a legit repository for answers as well.

Which I'm fine with, except some dumbfuck edited out my entire opening paragraph to remove an important detail, proceeded to ignore the detail in his answer, and every other answer ignored it as well since it was no longer part of the question.

    3. Mal

      Mal

I think at that point, they're just screwing with people or at least I hope so. Editing the question and the details seems to be the last thing anybody should do. Answerers should get clarification from the questioner before any editing.

  10. Oh boy, that terrible period where I'm trying to find a new game to play. In my desperation I actually tried playing GTA IV again. I've hit a new low, somebody help me!

      @TCP: For consoles, anyways.

Anyways, what's it like not having a gigantic collection of games to fall back on? Seriously, I don't know what I did before Steam sales and indie bundles.

You need to play some Professor Layton RockyRan! Everyone likes Professor Layton! It's frustrating, it's smart, it's charming, it's happy, and it's got great music. And british accents.

  11. The downside of obsessing over Dark Souls for 60+ hours is that every other game feels bland and uninteresting now :(

I consider Dark Souls monumentally superior to Witcher 2. I don't think Witcher 2 is all that great.

    3. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Waldorf you seem to have a problem with not being able to see anythings other than the way you see them. A very obvious way Dark Souls can be better than The Witcher 2 is its superior gameplay.

    4. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

Not really? I gave my opinion on a game that gave me a similar feel? And how would that be different from what Rocky, or you, stated?

  12. Finally beat Dark Souls. Longass game, spent 62 hours on it on my first playthrough. But some of the best 62 hours this generation. Fucking A!

    1. Johnny

      Johnny

I've recently started it. 15 hours in and just slayed the hydra and the butterfly boss.

      Great game so far!

  13. Jesus god, Dark Souls is long. 47 hour playtime, just now stepped into Lost Izalith, still haven't touched DLC. Weeee!

  14. I wish I had consulted with someone before buying a 1-year sub to PS+. I got the apparently shitty US service as opposed the apparently amazing EU one >_

      Thursday Next

Pretty sure the content doesn't vary that hugely. EU does release titles at a different rate. I think US drop 4 at the beginning of the month while EU have four titles at any one time, two new titles are added per fortnight, with the two older titles being retired.

    3. RockyRan

      RockyRan

I've been happy with the service so far to be sure.

Just wondering, has the US PS+ gotten Read Dead Redemption yet? Please say no :(

    4. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Nope. I think to properly gauge something like this you'd have to look at how they compare overall rather than with a few select titles. Personally I don't want too many PS3 on-disc games to come from PSN+. I prefer titles that are smaller and I might not buy otherwise.

  15. I've never imported any game before and I'm really eyeing the UK retail PC version of Dark Souls. Where would I buy this and how much would it cost to get it shipped across the big pond?

    1. sixrocket

      sixrocket

Why would you bother importing it?

    2. RockyRan

      RockyRan

Because there's no PC retail version of Dark Souls and has a lot of neat goodies :(

  16. I like how he casually mentions the Make a Wish Foundation lie, then pretends to be appalled when Sven is "rude" to him. Like he couldn't put two and two together during the phone conversation. Or when he typed up the synopsis on the forum.
  17. Right, so my loot right now stands at: Alan Wake, Tobe's Vertical Adventure (little pixel-art platformer for $1.25), Binding of Isaac, Ys Origins, Tropico 4, Prince of Persia '08, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (for co-op with my bro, turns out the netcode is fucked up the ass). Not bad at all. Should keep me occupied for quite a while.
  18. Played 16 hours of Witcher 2 and I'm just now starting Chapter 2. Fuck me, I'm in for a longass game aren't I?

  19. What the hell is with The Witcher 2? Every time I boot it up I end up playing for at least 3 hours. I'm more addicted to it than I was with Skyrim and Civilization. <_<

      How large is large?

I'd recommend the Zowie G-TF if it's large enough. The Swift variant is supposed to be just as good/better.

Or P-TF/P-TF Swift if the G is too large.

      Favourite mousepad ever.

Not sure how good it is compared to those two, but i got myself a 'Strike X FURY' for about £10. Its plenty big enough and seems to be doing the trick.

I probably have the same thing Spork does. Steel series. Popular on Amazon. Like $10 or around there. Great so far.

  21. Skyrim question. If I delete the game and reinstall, do the mods I subscribed to automatically get readded or do I have to manually subscribe again?

    1. excel_excel

They should do, as the Steam workshops subs are separate from the actual game until its launched. I can add shit and I don't even have the game!

  23. So I finished Apollo Justice. As someone who played the four games back to back, with no "nostalgia goggles" for first three, I feel confident in saying I disagree vehemently with the hate AJ gets. It's a really good game that holds up just fine with the rest of the series (haven't played Investigations yet).

AJ had some fun characters for sure. Trucy is good, Apollo is good, Klavier was kinda fun. The main villain wasn't very fun though, and the final case was SUPER ambitious with it's time travel shtick but I don't feel like it came together that well.

      *spoilers for AJ*

I liked what the case was going for, not necessarily what it executed. The deliberate anti-climax in particular I felt could've been very good had they had the time to flesh out the hopelessness of the case. In retrospect it was a pretty ballsy and clever way of bringing down the villain, in that the protagonist/player stays fixed in place and stand by as the entire justice system shifts around them. If I had one criticism of the game it's that that last p...

  24. Question about Deus Ex: HR. This is the first time playing it and I have the Missing Link DLC. Is the game going to tell me when to play the DLC, or do I have to know ahead of time?

It's between Singapore and the last area. I think most people played it after they beat the game.

^Oh it takes place before Singapore then? Guess I should play it... I'm at that part.

  25. Yeah, I'm just hoping it's not something normal. That said, they've said in future interviews (like in RPS) that there's a wide variety of ways to accomplish the same thing. You can be stealthy without getting in shootouts. Personally, I'll be avoiding using the gun as much as I possibly can
