    So, a reddit post I wrote criticizing changes that were made in the Steam version of Shank not only got a reaction from the dev, now GiantBomb wrote a piece on the subject and even quoted my post! Now I feel all special.

      Because of criticism they felt was valid. The GiantBomb article got all the details, including quotes from them directly.

      So they made a story patch alongside a gameplay patch. I have no issue with that. At least they didn't get death threats.

      I don't have an issue with the concept of a story patch but, considering they were actually removing game content, I think they went about it wrong. Patch notes should've been clearer and the changes should've been optional, imho. Seems like they agree because they said they'll be adding an option to restore the original version.
