So, it's 7AM and I just finished marathoning the final season of How I Met Your Mother. People were actually upset over the ending? Why?

There was also a monologue from Ted in season 8 about how he wish he could have had more time with the mother, something like that. That's what tipped me off.
My main problem is what Atomsk said, the whole 22 episode season dedicated to Barney and Robin's wedding, which was over 15 minutes into the finale. But that's more of a problem with the entire season and not the finale, IMO.

Well, honestly, this show never needed to last as long as it did. The fact that they stretched that wedding week-end to an entire season kinda says a lot, I think. It really should have ended a couple seasons back. If anything, that's what I would blame for the pointless wedding arc.

I felt like the ending threw away a lot of character development for Ted. The death of the mother, however depressing, was pretty obvious.
