I'm confused. A few places are reporting on a supposed Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement, but then the actual articles only mention an interview with Kojima in the next issue of UK PlayStation magazine... As unsurprising as this might be, you'd think they would make a much bigger deal out of this...

It says right on the cover of the UK Playstation Magazine that Kojima wants to kill off Snake. Dude's old and not expected to live longer than six months or so anyways, so don't be surprised if we get someone new for MGS5.

I agree that at this point any MGS 5 with Solid Snake as the main character will seriously undermine the impact of MGS 4 as the end of the saga.
I would love more proper non-handheld MGS, though
And as awesome as I'm sure Rising will be, that feels more like a spin-off what with the focus not being stealth.
Frankly, at this point the best thing would be to bring in a new protagonist and start a completely new story. Maybe even drop or replace the Solid in the...
