  1. Agreed with GOH. Hereditary was a great film, horrible to watch, incredibly stressful, my anxiety was at max, BUT it was a terrifically made film. In fact... Hereditary > The Witch.
  2. Loved the banjo playing before Last of Us. I mean, sure, technically, it wasn't a banjo since it was a guitar head/neck/tuning but you know what I mean. I don't understand why they had to move, that killed the press conference's momentum. Save Last of Us for last so we didn't understand why they were in a church till the end. Over all though, Death Stranding, Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man looked great.
  3. Was anything besides Metal Wolf Chaos announced at Devolver?
  4. If Elder Scrolls VI doesn't get announced they better at least bring Morrowind and/or Oblivion to consoles. Or you guys are going to witness me freak the hell out.

Maybe you fly from planet to planet on an upgradeable ship but when you're on the ground you're playing like a Fallout/ES game?? All the planets/landable areas equal roughly the size of an Elder Scrolls map but everything is spread out like Black Flag.

I'm not saying it can't have Glover either.

  10. I love fake shots in trailers. Give me a whole fake trailer, that would be the best.
  11. I imagine she dyed her hair because she was on the run.
  12. Ok so I finished my rewatch earlier this week. Captain America: Civil War - HOLDS UP. I forgot how much Ant-Man and Spider-Man steal the show. Every line they have is ace. Doctor Strange - I had kind of forgot about this one but it HOLDS UP. It's so psychedelic it's shocking it got made in the first place. It kind of follows the Iron Man 1 course in some ways but the tonal differences make up for it Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 - I actually watched this one in March and I couldn't bring myself to watch it again a month later. I think it suffers from what Age of Ultron suffered from, but worse. It just doesn't do anything better than the first one and doesn't try to be a different movie. It's just more of the same. Maybe after Infinity War they can add some other MCU characters to the cast (like Hulk in Thor Ragnarok) to mix this up a bit. Doesn't hold up. Spider-Man Homecoming - This film HOLDS UP. Ok we're getting into really recent films here. I liked this film on the first watch but I think watching it within context of the rest of the MCU made it even better. Tom Holland is perfect casting. Honestly, it's the only Spider-Man movie that felt like what Spider-Man should feel like. Thor Ragnarok - This film from a few months ago HOLDS UP. It's the perfect way to do a Marvel sequel. Just like how Thor The Dark World took the serious parts of Thor 1 and built the film off form that, this film takes all the best parts of Thor and turns it into an action comedy. Less is more sometimes, that counts for a lot of things, including runtime. Black Panther - ??? Avengers Infinity War - This film HOLDS UP. Oh wait. This film is a wild ride and it has so many great things going on that I completely forgive it for not really working at all as a standalone film. If this was just a standard sequel to a normal (by that I mean franchises that don't have 19 films) it wouldn't have even half the characters. Not to mention it's clearly a part 1 of a 2 part story (Deathly Hallows, the last Hunger Games, etc). But FUCK IT I got to see The Winter Soldier spin Rocket Raccoon around as they both fired assault guns at aliens. Where is the best picture nomination? I will now rank the MCU, now that I have a fresh perspective. God Thanos Tier: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Black Panther Thor: Ragnarok Avengers: Infinity War Spider-Man: Homecoming A tier: Captain America: Civil War Guardians of the Galaxy The Avengers Doctor Strange Ant-Man Iron Man 3 B tier: Iron Man Avengers: Age of Ultron C tier: Captain America: The First Avenger Thor Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 F tier: The Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2 Thor: The Dark World
  13. I got about half way through NNK2 and just couldn't finish it. I do like the side stuff with the army battles and the kingdom building. Evan go fuck off and die though.
  14. Far Cry 5. That was one of the worst endings to an otherwise good game. It was just stupid. I know Far Cry is about stupid but this was bad stupid not good stupid. Truthfully, as others have mentioned the story kind of sucked. During the last brother's story sequence I just ended up skipping the cut scenes entirely. It didn't help that the main story missions in the north area is super repetitive. In fact, the way the game is structured didn't really work with me. I like the idea of pissing off the cult enough that they hunt you but there's no escaping it and the game doesn't care if you're just meters away from a new Prepper Stash or half way through a side quest, it'll pull you out and throw you into a long cut scene followed by a frustrating mission. Otherwise, the game is great. The side quests are usually fun. The game play loop is fun. Hunting and fishing is great. Montana is beautiful. I'm actually pretty excited, I'm going to Montana this summer, to a city called Missoula which they mention in the opening is only an hour away. Hopefully no cults take control of the area while I'm there, as a left leaning Canadian, I'd be the first to be murdered. It just felt like this game had something to say about Christianity and right wing middle Americans, but then it chickened out.
  15. Phase 2 DONE This was the phase I was most interested in rewatching as some of films I didn't remember as well as phase 1. Here's my observations / nitpicks. Iron Man 3: HOLDS UP. I always liked IM3 but I think it's a better movie than it gets credit for. Upset fanboys pissed about what happened with the Mandarin derailed the conversation about his film. But it's a legitimately great twist and the MCU doesn't have too many twists. A couple random thoughts: I still don't get why it's Christmas, this movie had a HEAVY Christmas vibe, it feels like it came out 5 months late. The kid sucks (apparently he's coming back for Infinity War??) but his and Tony's relationship is great. The scene with the people falling out of Air Force One and Iron Man saving them is pretty great and maybe one of the best action sequences in the MCU up to this point. I don't understand why Alrich Killian is evil or what his motivations are but you can say that about a love of MCU villains... especially in this phase. Thor The Dark World: Fuck everything about this movie. I knew it wasn't good but it's aged horribly especially after Ragnarok. They took all the wrong lessons from Thor 1. Remember I said the worst part of Thor was when it took itself too seriously instead of having fun? Well that's all this movie is. And it fucking sucks for it. A bleak CG fest with a bad villain, waste of the 9th Doctor. At least not all the shots are dutch tilts. Fuck this film. Captain America The Winter Soldier: HOLDS UP. Great film and you know it. Guardians of the Galaxy: HOLDS UP. What a one two punch with TWS and GotG. Avengers Age of Ultron: You know what. HOLDS UP. This film gets a lot of hate but I don't mind it. It's just didn't do much different than the first Avengers so it feels a little weak in comparison. The Avengers are really only a thing for the third act of the first film so it's cool seeing them working together right from the get go of this movie. Plus it has some great Whedonesque moment (the party at Stark Tower is all great). Too bad it gets over shadowed by Civil War. CA:TWS and this film are really when these movies start feeling like they're all part of a universe instead of just 4 stand alone films plus a crossover film every phase. Ant-Man: According to Wikipedia this is phase 2?? Ok well... HOLDS UP! This is the most stereotypical Marvel film of them all. It has great characters and great action but a weak villain. But it floats on thanks to Paul Rudd and Michael Pena. That opening scene is great too.
  16. I MADE MY FIRST MEME OFF THIS ARGUMENT. That was terrible, I'm sorry.
  17. Just because you like Splinter Cell a lot doesn't mean Sam Fisher is iconic. Face it, it's a B level franchise!!! We haven't had a good argument in a while. This was good. But seriously, B level franchise. Also @TheMightyEthan why did I get a notification from you saying you mentioned me in this thread? Did you delete your post? What are you trying to hide?!?!
  18. I mean yeah but I feel like you can't judge Metal Gear for Survive. We're only a few years past The Phantom Pain which is the series' best game.
  19. Lol ok Splinter Cell is more iconic than something from Assassin's Creed?! Hell you could argue that the fucking Rabbids are more iconic than fucking Splinter Cell. Hey FLD, what's it like LIVING IN BIZARRO WORLD!?!
  20. Ok so here's where I'm at with this: 1) your post says nothing about Sam Fisher. 2) The video doesn't say anything about Sam Fisher. 3) I've never played Splinter Cell because why would I play the poor man's Metal Gear? So how am I suppose to recognize a voice as Sam Fisher. 4) All I was asking was for you to KINDLY explain your cryptic AF post. 5) I HATE YOUR GUTS
  21. I have studied your post multiple times now and yet I do not see "crossover" anywhere.
