As a massive Battlefield fan, I'm disappointed by how un-interested I am in the new BF1. I'm not sick of modern or futuristic shooters yet, but WW1 doesn't do it for me.

Well, WWI wasn't all trenches. There's was plenty of action elsewhere besides the quagmire that was the main front.
