      Yeah, it definitely has its benefits. But sometimes I can't help but wish they'd release a new engine already.

      New engine for HL3. Calling it now.

      The engine is already incredibly different from the one in HL2. There's no need to release "a new engine" because it's already basically a new engine, just without the "2.0!!" PR addendum attached.
