  2. I just finished all the story missions yesterday. The game is blatantly slow story wise to account for the dlc. The ending is left wide open. Everything is basically an introduction to the world and characters. No development whatsoever. You meet a character near the end who helps you out and the tells you that she'll someday ask you for a favor in return. This never happens At the end one of the characters mutters "endings are just beginnings." The character flat out tells you that there is a lot left to do. Story wise the game feels like it left off at the halfway point. Maybe not even that. Thank god playing the game itself is really fucking fun. I'm really glad I lowered my expectations for the story.
  3. The two shaders I got from using codes and the ones the outfitter sells are all level 20.
  4. You can't use shaders til you're level 20. Isn't that the max level? That's kind of dumb.
  5. Anyone want to take any guesses as to which website is going to be the first to give Destiny less than an 8? I enjoy these shitstorms.

Eurogamer. IGN might give it a 7.5 at the lowest but it'll still cause a shitstorm. I'm getting hyped over the game and know I'll love it, but it's not 90 material.

Who won? Are reviews out yet?

  6. How difficult is it to jump into the third one if you never played the other two?
  7. LA Noire. Good game, but the ending was a bummer. The problems the game had could be easily fixed with a sequel we'll probably never get.
  8. Season passes in general though. Id like to see the statistics of people who end up going to jail or dead before the very last piece of dlc comes out for their season passes.
  9. I wonder how many people who ordered the MK8 season pass arent going to be able to play it when it comes out. Just because of death, incarceration, homelessness, etc. I think thatd be a very interesting study. Oh, my point is that buying a season pass right now thats going to come out in the middle of next year is ridiculous. Im not condemning it because its a sweet deal, but tis very ridiculous.
  10. The closer the day gets the more i feel like Ive succumbed to the hype. FPS is probably my least favorite genre, I prefer single player games over multiplayer, and I havent played a Halo game since the first one in 2001 or whatever. I just feel like Im going to play the main story and then go back to Diablo 3.
  11. Ive been playing LA Noire the last couple of days. I never finished it back when I had it and I thought it was repetitive and dull back then, but Im really enjoying it right now. I like that all the dlc cases fit right into the rest of the game, it's seamless. The dlc cases are also top notch quality, good shit. I imagine they lifted those out of the game. That being said, controlling Cole outside of having him walk around doing detective work or walking fom a place to his car and vice versa is a pain in the ass. Using a gun is the least fun thing to do in this game. Im getting terrible GTAIV flashbacks. I also suck at the interrogation portion. Im not sure if its me or the way it was written, but it's all over the place. Sometimes I'll get them all right, sometmes Ill get half, sometimes Ill get 4 or 5 questions wrong in a row. I just cant see the pattern in how the game works. Maybe Im just an idiot. Like most GTAs, driving around is alright thanks to the dialogue and/or the music. Especially this game.
  12. The challenges are actually a lot of fun. They're kind of addictive really.
  13. It's the same except that Fetch has better melee moves(including a finisher) and her neon powers are better because they reused some of Delsins video and smoke powers. So her neon is extremely capable. She can do more. The game is also faster thanks to those speed boosts you find. And being able to super jump then run in midair twice, something Delsins couldn't do with neon.
  14. Im playing PSABR again since it was free. I really dont get the hate it gets. Its not a badly made game. Just that the mechanic for winning is beyond retarded and about half the cast is just wrong. I wonder if they fixed those 2 things people would like it. And the goddamn menus. Those are terrible. Im no Smash expert, but PSABR seems to play almost exactly the same as far as the actual combat goes. The game looks pretty good on PS3 and I think they perfectly captured each character's moveset from their respective games. The game is fun. And then theres stuff I completely dont agree with that other people have issues with. I like the fact that all the characters dont have a unified art style. I like that it looks like every character was ripped from their collective game and put into this one. Mixing two art styles to make a stage was also really cool. The stages are one of the things they did better than Smash. I also like the third party characters, mostly because theyre well done. Theyre all very faithful to their franchise counterparts. I like having Big Daddy and Isaac. Its cool. I think the developers who made it were very passionate about it. It shows. I just wish they had used more money to get the charcters people expected(Snake, Cloud, real Dante) and not those really obscure characters people dont give a shit about(Ape Escape guy, chick from Heavenly Sword, dude from Starhawk). I think the game is salvageable if a sequel ever gets made. They just need to straight up copy Smash and spend more money for better characters. And besides the first one, I think half the cast of the Smash games are also crap. Im not sure why that gets a pass. Nintendo doesnt have as many memorable characters as people like to think they do.(exclusidng Pokemon fo course since thats basically cheating).
  15. I think at this point its just an obligation so they can save face. They did bad last gen even when they bought exclusives from japanese publishers, this time they didnt even try. They already knew they were going to do terribly. On top of that, the Japanese are pretty much rejecting home consoles across the board. Honestly, I wouldnt have mocked or ridiculed MS if they hadnt released it in Japan. It would have been the sensible thing to do. And if there are Japanese people who really wanted an Xbox One, I imagine theyre hardcore enought to import it anyways. Its just lose-lose for them over there.
  16. So youre saying my microwave has free wifi? Sweet! Time to go tell ATT to go fuck themselves.
  17. I skipped all the cutscenes. I saw them over a decade ago and that's good enough for me.
  18. True. I've been a lot more open to a lot of Japanese games because they're on Vita myself.
  19. Its a PSone classic, so it's Vita/PSP/PS3. And X5 comes out next week as well. Never played that one.
  20. I never thought about this, but I guess I like the Bioshock/Borderlands method. You pass through a "save spot" and if you die you come back to it with a full health bar for a fee. And you get to keep all your progress. All the stuff you got, all the enemies you killed will stay dead and the damage you did on enemies will also remain. You just run back to the fight or go do something else to better prepare.
  21. Im not a huge Mega Man fan, but X4 makes me really nostalgic. By far my favorite Mega Man game. I also went nuts with the PSN sale - Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut Alice: Madness Returns - Ultimate Edition Dead Space Dead Space 2 Red Dead Redemption/Max Payne 3 bundle Ive never played Max Payne 3 or any of the older ones, but it seems like something I might like.
  22. There's a fantastic EA and Rockstar sale on US PSN right now. Most games are about $5, all of them less than $10, exept the ME trilogy, which is $14. Totally makes up for the shitty PAX sale last week.
  23. Edge of Tomorrow. Way better than I expected. I normally dont have a problem with this, but I really had wished it was rated R or a very hard pg 13. This just seems like the type of movie where gore would make the movie better.
  24. L4D was bland the one time I tried it. I guess its a game thats only good with multiple players, since solo is boring as hell. Honestly, it felt like Spec Ops - theres nothing wrong with the gameplay, its servicable, but theres nothing special about it either. At least Spec Ops had the great story and art design to fall back on. L4D had none of that.
