I'm back in. Fuck. Currently sitting at 286 light with my warlock. I suggest people do all the reef quests as soon as you can to get a really good exotic scout rifle. It's not as time consuming or difficult as some of the other quests and they're also soloable. I also advice people to use the legendary marks to get a shell from your vanguard or the crucible guy. That should be the first thing you get, even if it is boring. Eventually you'll find high level weapons, armor and class items, but ghost shells that high in light are more rare. It'll be a while before you replace that one. And another tip - your light level dictates what light level your engrams turn into. So equip all your highest level stuff before you go to the cryptarch.

I liked that the water pistol didn't work. It seemed too obvious to MGS fans that something silly like that would work, but it totally doesn't and the game even comments on it through Ocelot. Anyways, mission 45 sucks. It's the only mission that has one shot kills. I got so annoyed by it that I just turned off my system. I still haven't gone back to beat it.

Gravity Rush: The official thingamabob
Strangelove replied to Strangelove's topic in PlayStation Games
If I have the money for it, I will definitely double dip. I love the first game. -
I just logged in to see the changes. If you dont get TTK, you might as well delete the game from your HDD or sell your disc. You cant do shit anymore. And no, I dont play MMOs or pc games that have these kinds of expansions, so this is all new to me.

Oh, people are bitching about the story here too? Fuck. Game is rad. Kojima hasnt been able to write a decent story since MGS3. Blame your own dumbass expectations. The game IS Metal Gear Solid through and through because a videogame is more than it's story. And if you think the best part of MGS is story, I feel bad for you. This series never would have flown if it had relied on their ridiculous cutscenes. The games are all fun and have always tried to be as open as possible. These games are what they are because of gameplay expectations being turned upside down, switching controller ports during the Decoy Octopus boss fight is way more important to gaming than a 15 minute speech by The Boss. Who cares? It's a crime to discredit such great gameplay and for people to be so upset that to deny that this is a fantastic game. Just go watch some terrible anime to wash away the pain.

Im not getting TTK and i havent told the people I play with yet. They all assume that everyone is getting it. Shit's weird.

MGS5. I havent played anything this straight up fun in a really long time. Its a great.

Max Payne 3 was kind of, uh, not as good as I hoped. It was ok. My first Max Payne game and probably my last. Halfway through I realized I wasnt having fun and was just playing to finish the story. The story itself isnt that great either, but I liked Max enough to see it through to the end. As an MGS fan this might seem like a joke, but there were just too many cutscenes in this fucking game. Youre constantly interrupted to do some dumbass qte or to walk for like 15 mnutes just enjoying the view or whatever the fuck. It was really annoying. 90% of the game was spent in cover because if I tried to do something actually fun like jumping in midair and using bullet time, I would hit everyone but not kill anyone. Then Id land, and get shot and killed in about a second, which causes you to use a painkiller, then you shoot the guy, youre laying on the ground and getting shot by the same dudes and so forth and so on. Just totally not worth doing. Something about bullet time makes it so that you cant get headshots. I killed way more people faster and more accurately by just staying in cover and using the auto aim and moving the gun up to the head over and over. Not to mention that if you dont get headshots the enemies dance around in circles for eternity, fall, then get back up if theyre not dead. They can keep getting up 3 or 4 times til I guess the game decides the bullets finally got through their bulletproof vests. At other times it takes 2 bullets to the chest and they drop dead. It was just a really dull and sometimes infuriating game. I cant even count the times I died because I had to fight like 10 guys at once and if you stick your head out for a second most of your health will get whittled down. Aside from the production value, it felt like I was playing a midtier PS2 game. I had just finished RDR too, and I honestly didnt feel like it was that far removed, which is what I expected. I expected tighter controls from a linear shooting game compared to an open world one, but it was almost exactly the same. Shit, it was more fun using dead eye in RDR than bullet time in MP3. And lastly, what the fuck was up with that stupid shitty tv filter that makes everything look distorted and annoying? That shit got old fast. Whoever directed the game was definitely a frustrated wannabe movie director. Like Kojima, except with no fun whatsoever.

I forgot this took place in the 80s...alright. Whatever I guess. Also - Stormcaller is totally wearing a Magneto helmet.

I like how the Psylocke costume turned out, but leotards just seem so outdated. My favorite Street Fighter character is Cammy, but I find her outfit outdated too. I like ass as much as anyone, but I think they should cover that up a bit. Its not the late 80s/early 90s anymore.

Tekken Tag 2 GTA Vice City Stories Street Fighter Alpha 2 The other 2 games are awesome, but I regret buying Alpha 2. I already had Alpha 3 Max. Im used to that one now. I guess I was driven by nostalgia.

I really liked The Wolverine up until the Silver Samurai showed up. Overall I think it's good, especially the directors cut.

Saints Row 4 Re-elected. It was a lot of fun. It sucks that they kind of broke their own game by adding super powers though. All the vehicles and for the most part guns dont matter anymore. You just use superpowers all the time. The problem is that there are parts where your powers are taken away or when youre forced to ride a vehicle and it just doesnt feel right because youre too used to the super powers. The super powers are really fucking fun though. The game is also really funny sometimes. The dlc was kind of lame though. Just run of the mill stuff.

You gotta throw Beast in there too. In retrospect, seeing Kelsey Grammar and Rebecca Romijn make out passionately would be...interesting to see.

It does have a lot of problems(They could have gotten rid of Mystique completely and just have credited the black guy that could adapt in First Class as the reason the Sentinels have that ability), but I try to ignore them. I like most of the X-men movies, so I do my best to see past the flaws. Im also a Metal Gear fan, so Ive had a lot of training in ignoring retcons and inconsistencies.

X-men: Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut. Rogue is still barely in it, but she's in it. That being said the new stuff is mostly good, but for theaters it would have been too long. The best thing about it its that it makes the future stuff a lot less boring during the halfway point. Aside from the intro and the end, the future shit felt like it was interrupting the past stuff in a bad way. The Rogue stuff adds something interesting to it. Overall its about a 5 minute scene and the rest of the extra stuff is sprinkled throughout the rest of the movie. Theres also another long scene that I honestly didnt care for in the past. Its fine I guess. I liked Days so more of it was a good thing to me. The extra stuff doesnt really "fix" the movie, so if you didnt like the theatrical cut, this wont change your mind. But if you want more of the movie, its worth watching this version. And this has nothing to do with it, but I really dont like Jennifer Lawrence in these movies. Her Mystique is such an idiotic asshole. Shes just really unlikable. The only reason her and Ellen Page got big roles in this one was because they both got famous inbetween their original appearances in the franchise and this one. I never felt Mystique was that important. She sure as fuck wasnt in the first 3 movies. Neither was Kitty, but Ellen Page is at least likeable. In general I just dont get the Jennifer Lawrence hype. She's cute I guess. Another weird thing I noticed that I hadnt noticed before is that Hugh Jackman got super ripped for the movie but barely fights in it. He has no fight scenes. Its so weird. Luckily he's a good actor so he doent have to rely on action.

Is Catwoman in AK? I havent seen her being mentioned at all this time around. And i havent played the game yet, but youre welcome to spoil anything.

Good luck with Blackgate. I...didnt like it very much. Anyways, I got SR4 off the same sale. $15. It sucks that theyre using the same city as in 3 and the superpowers are rad, but have made cars completely pointless. Other than that Im liking it as much as 3.

Shadow Warrior. I really liked it. In all honesty, the only real bad part of the game are the berserkers. Fighting 2 of them at once is fucking terrible. A regular enemy shouldnt be tougher than all the bosses, nor should it be able to take so much damage. On a technical level Im guessing their hitboxes or whatever it registers to take damage is all fucked up. Every once in a while I could kill one in about a minute, but often id spent almost 10 minutes fighting 2 at a time, if I didnt die first. Its fucked up to think about it but because of these enemies and these encounters I cant recommend the game to certain people I know. They woulndt be able to deal with it. Anyways, the ending was great. I doubt I was going to say that when I bought the game. This looked like the type of game that wouldnt give a shit about story. Guess not.

Shadow Warrior. I just finished chapter 14. Lots of time spent just running away and healing over and over while chipping away damage on one of the terrible "bosses". I like this game, but its repetitive as hell now. Should have ended about 2 chapters ago.

I really disliked DDS1 when it came out. Back then I didnt know about the SMT series, but I thought the character art and graphics looked fantastic(which they do), but I got really bored with the game. I spent hours inside a dungeon with barely any dialogue or story being told. It just felt empty. Like nothing was happening. I wonder if that gets better the more you play it. In a way it felt like the complete opposite of Persona 3 and 4. Just fights, fights, fights and no story whatsoever.

Avengers: Age of Ultron. Way better than the first in almost every way. Joss Whedon finally learned how to film action scenes. James Spader kills it and basically steals the show. The hammer thing though...that bugged me a lot. Im not going to nerd rage about it, but I am nerd bothered.
-
Ive only played the prologue and first chapter, but I really like it. It plays really well and the graphics are decent. Good voiceacting too. Honestly, this is what I wish most indie games looked like instead of the pixel stuff. I wonder how long itll be for that to happen. Though I have no idea if this is indie, but I know the budget was small. From what I hear though, the game is too long. We'll see.

The people who are hardcore about these games would disagree, but ok.

Oh yeah, I got this. DMC4 Special Edition. Im really excited to play it again. Havent touched this game since it came out in 2008 or 2009, whatever.
