I've on;y played a small handful of "2018 games" this year. But after 278 hours of it since it came out on PC, Monster Hunter World is my Game Of The Year. I have been dumping a lot of time into Assassin's Creed Odyssey though, since I got accepted into the Project Stream beta.

I get that it's live TV, but Netflix just announced a live-action Cowboy Bebop. I'm worried that they're gonna make a pig's ear out of it, but I'm cautiously optimistic, in that they've brought in the original series creator in as a consultant, to make sure everything feels right. Thoughts?

Looking forward to getting back into streaming post-Thanksgiving, after my family goes back home, so I can sink into some more games. Before the break, I'd finally started Furi and completed the first two fights, and I've set myself a goal of having that be the first game I complete front-to-back on stream. The incentive of playing through them on camera is a good motivator to help me get through my backlog, and I hope to continue this going into 2019. I'm also dipping back in and out of Monster Hunter World at least once a week to keep up with the event schedule. Lunastra got added to the PC version this weekend, and the Christmas holiday event is coming up soon, and bringing Arch-Tempered Kirin with it, making it the first Arch Tempered monster in the PC version. Which is cool, but I just want Behemoth from the Final Fantasy XIV crossover event. Those games are what I'm mostly streaming, but off-camera, for funsies, I'm occasionally dipping into my original Hitman content, which I've imported into Hitman 2. You don't need to have actually bought Hitman Season 2 in order to do so, you just need to download the free tutorial mission, and it will check your account once you launch the game for the first time, and if you have the Season 1 content, you'll be prompted to quit the game in order to download the Season 1 content. (Makes no difference if you still have Hitman 1 installed, it's a fresh download, not copying one folder into another, sadly). And I boot up Fire Pro Wrestling World the odd time here and there, too. Oh, and I'm still playing Pokemon Go when I'm out and about.

We had been talking about it on Twitter, and one of us assumed it was Uwe Boll, and lo and behold, he appeared in our mentions. The internet is WILD, yo.

My last rig started with 8. Bought 16 2 years in, intending to just upgrade, then said "ah, to hell with it, and used both pairs for a combined 24. 32 futureproofs me a bit, in the sense that I can use the extra memory to stream on Twitch without worrying about running out of resources There's gonna be a lot of games real soon that are gonna be big resource hogs, and I plan on being at least a bit ahead of that curve.

just got an Xbox GamePass trial on PC so I could justify downloading Forza Horizon 4, playing a ton of it, then probably never playing it again. That was the plan, but now I might end up actually buying it, because oh man, it's scratching that itch that the Criterion open world driving games scratched, but with a ton more licensed cars and a livery editor. I dunno if I'll end up actually buying it though. My wife and I, along with our flatmate, are thinking of going thirds on an Xbox One for Christmas. They want to play the new Assassin's Creed and the Spyro remasters, but don't want to do it on my PC, despite me offering to give it up to them in order to do so. Probably for the best, I can't imagine the PC handling multiple save files very well. So when that day comes, I'll probably get the paid GamePass so I can play Forza on either the Xbox or PC then, and they'll have a bunch of other stuff on there too to pick up and play without having to go spending $60 a pop, plus whatever in DLC after the fact.

I'm looking forward to Behemoth coming to PC so I can tackle it with my stack. That said, I've had a pretty decent experience with most of my SOS Flare drop-ins so far, but for something like Behemoth, I don't know if I'd trust randoms, even on the regular one. Beat the game a few days ago, and hit HR51 last night. 150 something hours, and I know I can sink another 400+ into this EASILY. EDIT: Figuring out you can reorder your pouch items on the pause menu has been a revelation. No idea why the game doesn't tell you you can do this, but it's nice not having to scroll past 10 other items flipping between my traps and my tranqs while trying to capture Deviljho.

Some more of my friends picked this up, and we've been having a blast with it in co-op so far. It's still frustrating having to sit in the lobby until they see the story cut-scenes before jumping in, but we live with it. We were fighting a Rathian in Expedition (Twitch archive) and Rathalos appeared to help her out against us. At some point, my friend had managed to drive Rathian back to its next, but it knocked out the makeshift dam and I'd wasted a good 10 minutes climbing this massive tree only to have to go the whole way to the bottom again. But yes, very fun game in co-op. Been a go-to game for me to stream these last few days since I got back into it. Still not broke into double-digit HR yet, but immensely enjoying my time with Monster Hunter World. Relatedly, has anyone picked up Generations Ultimate for Switch yet? I hear it's a lot more like the older series entries, but there's a lot more monster variety on the other hand, since it's like a "Best Of The Series" game.

Yeah, I'm probably either gonna get the Pukei full set, or the Barroth set, and upgrade that. At the moment I'm just using the Origin pre-order set, but with the Kestodon armguards and Gajau boots, but a full set, and the bonuses that grants, will probably help me out a ton.

Anjanath owned me pretty hard the first time out. Unfortunately, I don't know if gearing up's gonna help me much, but I'm pretty familiar with the longsword (yes, i'm a longsword n00b, what of it), so I think I'm gonna stick with that for now. I've not been investing any of my armor spheres at all, will that make a significant difference? Spent a while doing some sidequests and investigations today. Opened up another camp point on Wildspire Wastes, done a few quests to unlock more canteen items, and then, captured a live Barroth. Absolutely bricked it at the end because Jyuratudos showed up as he was limping away and they started a turf war, thought Jyura was gonna cause me a mission fail. Luckily Barroth won and Jyuratudos fled, but not before Barroth broke off some materials for me. Also Diablos showed up early on and absolutely wrecked me in one hit, with a full health bar. I can't wait to mess with him later on. Also, my Palico is adorable as hell, with her Rathian tiara and Jagras cape.

Played a few hours of this on PC so far. Real smooth (on a Ryzen 5 processor, GTX1070 GPU and 32GB RAM, running from an SSD). Had problems initially trying to connect to a friend on launch day, but today, was fine, we got connected, and we got a few Investigation quests done. Haven't played a Monster Hunter since Freedom Unite, and so far, I've only carted once, on an expedition, because stupid me got too big for my boots and thought I could take on a Rathian with the (not quite but still) garbage pre-order armor. I'm a big fan of the base having a complete and constantly upgrading guide to the monsters, weak points and element advantages, that constantly expands the more you hunt it. Granted, a lot of the time, it makes sense when you see the monster, but not once have I had to go searching a wiki for help taking down a monster.

Considering Monster Hunter World was on my list of "here are the only games I want to buy in 2018", I'm definitely picking it up. Been sitting on Steam credit I got for Christmas last year, and I've been real good about not spending it on impulse buys. I'd been tempted by Final Fantasy XV and Yakuza 0 during the Summer Sale, but I persevered.
