Speaking of tracking, my buddy downloaded the first 2 episodes of Game of Thrones. He received 3 notifications in his mail from Comcast that he will face penalty if he continues to illegally download, and it referenced the GoT episodes. Brutal.

Yep...used several private trackers too, but did not use a VPN.
Really, really loved Torrenting. Did it for years.
Maybe I'm in the minority. Don't care, not going to "pirate" with torrents.

@FDS: I know people claim it doesn't do anything, but it's certainly not hurting, so I figure it's worth using. I do know that by itself it's not enough. I agree that private trackers are the best way to go, never had a problem with one even when I wasn't doing anything else special, but they're a bitch to get into so I just use public ones and like I said haven't had an issue in years (2010 was the last one, and that was before I turned off peer exchange and dht).
