First person to send me a PM gets a free beta key for this game. I'm going away on vacation and wont get the chance to use it.

Fix common crash to desktop problem Access the Sound menu from the Control panel. In the playback tab, right click on speakers and select properties. Select the advanced tab on the new screen and select 24 bit, 44100Hz (Studio Quality) from the drop down menu. This fixed crashes for Owen last night.

I should be surprised by dumb bills like this... but I'm not.

Bam. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card-gaming-performance,3042.html This is a good guide to follow for best bang for the buck. Very unbias look at video cards based on price vs performance. They do this every month. The November article should be released soon.

Sorry, I've been away because my computer went down. All back up and running again. I haven't noticed PB turning itself off. However I haven't been messing with that many settings. My group, with the exception of a few, doesn't like hardcore mode. (I personally do, especially Friendly Fire) One thing that we can't figure out is why our server will randomly drop off of the server browser and will not return until we restart the server. It's happened a lot in the past week. We put in a trouble ticket to gameservers. I'm also still frustrated with getting people on the server and when we do, the server crashing.

So I guess suss out = figure out?
-
It would to me, but only because I've spent so much time on the forum with you limeys. I don't think most Americans would have any idea what you meant. I can confirm this... I have no idea what "suss" is.

Ahh yeah that was a steamworks title too wasn't? That's good to know.
-
Yeah the "It's expensive on Steam" argument doesn't usually apply here in the United States. Sucks that Steam in Europe is so expensive. Didn't they eventually get OBSE working with the Steam version? If not, there goes the best mods out there.

Does anyone know if Skyrim (On PC) is a Steamworks game? As in, is there any point to not buying it on Steam? Will the retail version install it into steam or can it be independent from it? The reason I ask is for modding reasons. Although it was possible to mod the Steam version of Oblivion, there was usually extra steps involved for some mods. I'd like to avoid that if I can.

Consider it amended. A buddy of mine who has 2 SSDs from OCZ was telling me... "Man I don't know why you're having so much bad luck with OCZ. The 2 I have are going strong." Later that same day I got a text message from him. One of them died. I told him it was karma.

Yeah it's about time. In other news, my main gaming PC's SSD died. In fact, this SSD is the RMA replacement for the one that died over the summer. So I have to fall back to my laptop to play the game. Doesn't play as well but it's still playable. Don't ever buy any SSDs from OCZ.

@Tenshi Thanks. And yes there is a hardcore mode.

How would Origin know if the Battlelog website is down though? IF your PC has no internet at all that's easy enough to tell, but if a remote website is down or inaccessible then only your web browser will be returning the 404 or whatever. Unless the EULA clause about scanning your computer involved checking what your web browser is doing in which case Origin can GTFO out of my PC. btw those of you with BF3 servers hit me up (if you want) can maybe toss them up on either/both PSOX n the steam group. If battlelog is down and you still have internet you can put origin into offline mode manually. Takes two clicks.

Maritan what is your soldier name? Any tips on how to fill my server? We think it may be an issue with our number of slots and map sizes that cause it to be lower on the server browser.
