Alright! Rebuilt a broken gamepad and it's back in action! The cable broke and fried a port on my hub before... had to desolder it from the board and redo it because of how close it was though. Sony uses connectors - Logitech solders it right in!

Uh. I changed a hard drive once. And I didn't even shock myself doing it!

Which Gamepad did you repair? I hate repairing corded controllers but sometimes it has to be done. I have a GCN controller with a frayed cord I repaired with electrical tape but I should replace the cord. Unfortunately the joysticks are a little loose now. :-/
