  1. Sounds like stars are just being reset and discontinued... Haha - still looking for a way to clean things up since they opened the floodgates to let absolutely everyone in. Heavy-handed moderation used to work as a small community, but now they just can't bring the quality of their comments up so they have to try new arbitrary measures.
  2. Dammit, Dean. Now it's stuck in my head...
  3. Who wants to get herbal with this verbal machine? I'll mow your ass down like grass, you'll be feeling so green. I can flow, while you're slow like a big walkin tree You should know it's my show when you're talkin to me Drive a hearse in reverse, here to pick up the dead which you'll be when you see my rhymes shoot through your head Handicap this whole rap just to make it more fair: matching rhymes every line, plus an initial pair Had enough of this stuff with the AABB? That's not tough, I just bluffed: heat rises by degrees You'd be scared if I bared my fangs right at the start But my friend, it's the end, and I'll take you apart Fight a tank? You're a crank - so "illogical" too You rhyme swank but I'm thankful your rhythm won't do. It's too jank, I'd pull rank not to be in your shoes To be frank, it just stank, but then what can you do? I don't rap, I just tap keys and look at the screen the delay is my way to keep each meter clean but it's fast and it lasts all of every day give a pull, cut the bull, and then I yell "ole!" I'll align, drop a DIME on your current position drop a beat full of heat with machiney precision you'll be met with regret when you're burned by my fission Don't be sore, it's a war and I am on a mission. Super Meat on the sheets, yeah I'm killin em, Boy I A+ levels thus, like those blades are just toys IIDX is like sex when I'm hitting all notes, while you rap like you crap, just to see which one floats Fighting games? List some names - that challenge is quite odd; I'll just beat your elite stick with my fishing rod or dance pad, is that bad when I'm still killing you? Don't be sad, you're just mad because that's what I do. You were wrong like J Wong to awaken The Beast, I KO with my flow then I begin the feast. Wet your pants in a trance, shall I call you a cleaner? You were good in the hood but this is the arena! Shall we go to retro with a paddle controller? Bounce a ball off the wall? You'll be under my molars. Battle Tanks? I'd say thanks while you're saying your prayers. Don't be fooled, I'm oldschool, like a younger Ralph Baer. You can't run, you can't gun; you can't even break even. this is fun, I'm the one, and I'll tell you the reason: It takes speech, learning each and every single word If you are not to par, fighting me is absurd! Tuck your tail, prep to fail, and then get your ass out. I'm the cream, it's my scene, here to shake the devout If you hurt cuz I'm curt, remember it's a game it's the way that I play when I'm rising to fame.
  4. "The Darkness" is your new name? That's generic; kinda lame "Why did he choose that trademark?" Maybe you're scared of the dark? You "own this place?" Here's the lien Repossessed by the machine V-twin rhythm, timing clean Toss your ass out - still too green! So my armor's on your mind? Stalkin me cuz I'm so fine? "Underdog develops crush" Thank you oh so very much! Wanna be cool? Be like me Pulled it off to some degree, let's see if you follow form Round 2: I'm just getting warm Round 1 wasn't hard enough I need some more tricky stuff Some challenge to get me pumped You can skip it (if you're stumped!) Seven beats on every line. (For you suckers keeping time: add an eighth rest after this; if you don't then I'll be pissed!) All these sevens in your slot I think I hit the jackpot. Here to take the highest spot Behold the rap hell hath wrought! First you challenged. I received. You saw this rap, then you grieved. Cryin', bawlin, gamer please! You're getting snot on your sleeve. Your bravado doesn't fly acting tough but it's a lie beating me would win some clout but you didn't think this out You stepped up like Frogger would but that meter wasn't good Now you're pancaked like roadkill off to the infernal grill Your street cred just went offline Roast ya with a twist of lime That reminds me of that time... Nah, forget it - have at, swine! Fencing with a rapier wit Swashin' buckles, cuttin' shit. Assassinating, to wit: You're the target - this, the hit. Quick and punchy - this is fun! But you should have brought your gun... You just couldn't top my skill Technically, an easy kill 6264, this is math. cut you in two, left with half Now you're just 3132 wanna see what else I'll do? Sorry that's the DLC Rap this tight don't come for free. I tip the scales, pound for pound... Hang on for the bonus round!
  5. I can see that. I'm still having fun with it, but the story is "find all the things." Fun little thing for people to try: Hit "pause" a bunch. Nothing special - just the effect he used can end up with multiple images of the play screen laid out in strange patterns. I wasn't as far as I thought before - the platforming does get kind of serious later on, though most of the difficulty still seems to come from having a LOT of momentum when you jump. It's very easy to fly past the target platform... Also, while this game totally does an EchoChrome-like thing with perspective, Fez does a lot more with it - assuming EchoChrome doesn't go all-out for the last levels...
  6. Haha... I used to argue with my parents about that when I was 8 or 10. They'd try to get me interested in reading analog watches when I'd say something like "three fifty five" they'd tell me to use "five to four" and I'd point out that I'm saying exactly what's on my watch and reencoding it like that is just pointless extra work. The funny thing is... now I mostly wear analog watches in the last couple years because I love seeing the mechanism work in mechanical skeleton watches. I wouldn't get an electronic watch with hands unless I needed it for something specific though...
  7. We use half past, or "thirty" here... I think if you said it was "half 4" to someone, they'd probably say "Half for what?"
  8. I could just be jaded... I haven't seen anything that makes me go "wooooow!" yet though, and now I've collected enough cubes to open all the doors (the main goal) but haven't been everywhere yet. It IS still pretty original - the only other game to use these... physics(?) that I know is Echochrome: Basically you look at things from a straight 2D 90 degree angle, and if one platform is closer to the screen, but another is farther back, as long as they appear to be side by side, you can hop from one to the other. They use this trick in some clever ways when you have to traverse areas. Also, the sprite art and animation is top notch. Your movements look really smooth, and there are little incidental creatures added for decoration that move in simple, but cool ways. Wherever you go, there's a cycle of day and night that tends to look pretty nice - the color of the sky changes as the light level shifts. It's glitchy on purpose and not - I won't spoil anything, but it has some cool glitch effects at times. Also, another time, a wooden door opened halfway (the top half...) and I tried to go through it. The game froze and dumped me to NXE. It's a little rough - if you run indoors, then go into a corner and rotate the room, it's very easy to slip through the wall and jump into the miasma - you "die" and come back right away, since death has no penalty in Fez. Also, going with the "what you see is real" thing, it's often easy to fall to your death if you rotate so that you're behind something, then you move a little bit. In general, it's pretty easy to fall to your death in this game, but also inconsequential. It's still a pretty solid game, just not mindblowing.
  9. So um... It's here. At long last, it's available on XBL. Impressions? Obviously it has an interesting visual style - it really does feel 2D between rotations. The platforming reminds me a little bit of EchoChrome with the "subjective reality" thing. It also carries on the tradition of bizarre dialog from NPCs. I haven't seen anything ridiculously groundbreaking yet, but it is fairly entertaining.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEwbr-g0r_c Just found out about Tokyo Active NEETs. I like these guys already; they remind me of SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS. This is the first track from 東方爆音ジャズ.
  11. Did I do that? Well sorry, I don't know my own strength! I beat the competition's style and even their length. It's kinda automatic - I kill 'em as they come! But I smell some new blood in here, like "fee-fi-fo-fum..." I need to rap now like you've awakened a demon so come get your abuse and then walk away steamin' I'll cut you into cubes just like in Resident Evil and then smack that shit around because we're getting MediEvil. You called upon the big bad guy and now you'll pay the price You played Summoner yesterday, now you're the sacrifice! The least that I could do for you is maybe something nice... when we're done rapping I'll be sure to send you home on ice! I'll even etch your tombstone with advanced calligraphy You'll catch some more respect that way after you mess with me I'll wash the headstone for you and that service comes for free as long as you don't mind that the cleaning solution's pee The longer I go on you'll keep diminishing like that oh hey, did I say "Minish?" yeah you're wearing that cap I'll cut you down with rap I wrote in ten minutes flat keep shrinking, yeah I'm thinking you're smaller than I crap! While you're down there why don't you start a game of Sim Ant? I will not look you in the eye - it's more that I can't: A kid like you, your vantage point is really too low Can't even Katamari cuz your style is too slow! Maybe that was a bit too cold - I am a machine... but when the battle's over y'all will see what I mean: that elsewhere we're all friends who like to dabble in prattle but in this cage the blood is shed: I'm here for a battle!

    0x10c

I haven't been pronouncing it because while I know several people who took computer science courses in college, I don't know anyone who would be excited to program an imaginary 16-bit CPU in ASM... Though it seems I've even been misreading it too, because since no one has been writing it as 0x10^c, I've been seeing it as 0x10c... which is equal to 268 in decimal. Until now, I've never even seen an exponent in hexidecimal. The name is pretty bad... For a runner up, who would know that "Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy" has "Duodecim" in it? It's like it was named specifically to make FF an even more exclusive niche so you couldn't even read the title without being a fan.
  13. You've blocked images from that site. If you right click and select "Block Content" you should be able to unlist it. Or just "Edit Site Preferences", click the "Content" tab, and uncheck "Enable content blocking".
  14. I'd think a sign with a blanket statement should suffice. Something like "DLC is not included with games unless noted by us. Used sales are for discs and packages only."
  15. Did someone drop a pin, because I cannot hear a thing... It's just some PvP in rap; not like you have to sing. Is the equipment on right now? Can I get a mic check? Don't tell me Harri rocked too hard and now the system's wrecked?

He's very much not doing a disservice by informing people about potential threats.

Sure, people might overreact, but better let them make their own decisions than not tell them at all.

Should I leave this to people who don't know what they're talking about then? You seem to be arguing over me here since I've already explained that I'm not saying this is definitely malicious. If anyone is overreacting, it is you. I'm bringing an issue to attention in a relevant place. You're the one who's dead-set on convincing people it's harmless, when you don't even know in the first place.

If I had a buck for every time I've seen someone release a "game" (especially hotly anticipated sequels) that turned out to be a trojan, I'd be rich. It's one of the least exotic, most ordinary attacks out there, next to pornbaiting like the Kournikova virus or fake antivirus webpage script exploits.

  16. Yeah, Sports Champions is great. Just be ready for American characters to be nigh-unbeatable at higher levels, especially in Gladiator. There was a guy whose shield was literally directly mapped to my sword movements so the only way to hit him was to wait for him to swing then counter. Then there was a woman whose mace(? It's been a while...) could basically stun you instantly and kill you in a couple hits. But it's GREAT until then!
  17. I haven't seen Mushishi yet... but have you checked out Natsume Yuujin-cho? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PygEuBYBy-4
  18. I don't know what to think... Jetpack Joyride tells me I've played it for more than 10 hours now...

I play it in the bathroom. 10 hours would make my ass sore. :)

It seems impossible since I only play a few minutes at a time... I guess it was often enough though. I've completed all missions twice now.

  19. Since I main Tao, I spend a lot of time off the ground when fighting Jin, so it hadn't come up that I was definitely on the ground trying to block it before.
  20. Good to know. It looked very direct, but I don't study technicalities of every move in depth. I'd never seen it happen so I thought it was lag.
  21. I was just playing as Tao vs Litchi and had a funny end to a match. Litchi used her distortion drive, Tao used hers, which countered and beat Litchi, then the round ended and Litchi's staff fell out of the sky and knocked Tao on the ground. Though my favourite trick like that was in Bushido Blade, where you could position everyone just right at the end of a match and the victor would plant a spear into the loser, making a super blood particle fountain.
  22. I'm locked into a rap mood today... I love it when DeStorm does theme raps people challenge him to:
  23. Yeah, I know. That last fight I mentioned, I watched the intro and it lagged badly (auto-matched for a ranked match) and the match played better than the intro at least. Still, my ISP is inconsistent at best - download speeds are good for the area (~15 Mbps, still behind many places) but the ping is often above 1/10 of a second.
  24. I dunno... I've had really good luck with SFIV on PS3 - it usually seems to play in realtime for me. BB:CS on PS3 though, I've never had a fight with anyone that doesn't lurch and stutter, and when I browse games, the "signal" is always weak. The last match I played, Jin killed me with his astral heat right through a barrier block... Still, if I see you on, I'll try to challenge you! I'm not into long combos, but at least I may be unpredictable...
