Was I just lucky I went to the upper-middle class high school where our douchebag jocks pretty much kept to themselves and didn't go around bullying people?

Most people at my school, by senior year, were pretty cool with each other.

It's the maturity level. As a freshman, people have a point to prove and testees to express. By the time everyone reaches their senior year, people mature. Even then, they really aren't adult-ready. However, they are on the way. I'd say by the time you are 30, things are figured out, but it's too late to do anything about the past.

Jocks were the stereotype bully in my day, but they weren't very visible or problematic. Mostly former skaters would be the troublemakers... but in HS I had a geek gang of like, 7-10 ppl, so they didn't try anything if no one was isolated (one friend was beaten until hospitalized after class one day though...)
