So, based on this conversation I've concluded that they incorporated Pokemon into FFXII-2

To a degree. It also has the chocobo races of VII, so you both fight with and race the Chocobos. So they're highly prized enemies.

I got a Grand Behemoth, who I aptly named Clifford. Too bad he's blue, not red.
