Irony: English Primere League football is capitalism where if you fail you get relegated while American Football is socilaism where if you fail you get rewarded with the best draft picks.

The NHL does the same thing. This has enabled lesser teams, with little to no fan support, like Chicago/Pittsburgh/LA, to compete. It has also added a lot of parity to the league, which creates for some pretty exciting and unpredictable playoff series.

I just mean it's strange that Europe football is so capitalist while American Football is so socialist. (also I do like parity in my sports).

The complaint capitalists have about socialsm is that you're stealing money from the successful by threat of violence and subsidizing the unsuccessful. This is quite different as it's voluntary participation in a profit-fueled industry. It would be more akin to socialism if you took the best players from the winning teams and gave them to the worst teams. The analogy falls apart pretty quickly as both are a highly controlled and regulated system.
