  1. ancient rock wraith battle on Hard in DAII is a joke.

I thought it was pretty okay on Normal. Then again, I'm not one to go beyond normal unless it's a real-time game a-la FPS.

I rarely do it with this sort of game, but I had heard rumors DAII was easier, and I felt like I was going to be overpowered with all the pre-order content, so I went for it. It's been manageable and a lot of fun, with only a few parts that have given me trouble, but holy shit. I fucked up by not taking Aveline to tank. On the DA2 wiki, the author said the battle took him 45 minutes on Hard on this battle with a rogue character like mine. Aiiiihy.

I'm confused as to people saying DA2 is easier.

I plowed through DA:O on Nightmare, but I eventually just lowered DA2's difficulty to Hard.

  2. I'm down! I should actually be home that day, too! Yay! And I have a headset that's awesome! Double-Yay! Also, KZ3 - buy it and play it with meeee sometime!

  3. Play Uncharted 2 with us Wednesday or prepare to die.

  4. That is so sad a realization for Gawker.com They were, like, my breach into sanity for a while. Pretty much everyone here despises Kotaku, and moreso with each day. It used to surprise me too. I'm still neutral to the network, but I rarely comment there now. This place eats all my time. With large, gulping bites.
  5. Wha... Post Game? You mean you beat it already? Holy balls. I'm quite drunk and only a few hours in - I am loving it to death, but too lazy/drunk to screenshot it right now. Will do so later!
  6. I'll post my Hawke when I get home tonight - he looks like a more attractive version of my Warden - which absolutely makes no sense, unless you're living in the world of Devil May Cry 4, where the heroes look alike for absolutely no reason - but I'm still pretty pleased.
  7. Figures - I try to post on Kotaku and it won't let me, keeps giving me an error. FINE THEN.
  8. Yeah, I mean it's a mostly philosophical concept - it would be fascinating to put some physical application to it, but I'm not sure how that would occur.
  9. I've often figured that there might be 'alien' life out there - it's just outside our perception. If we're expecting life to resemble that of humans... I don't know. Once you start questioning perception, you enter a whole other realm of possibility. You can't really 'know' anything for certain, once you question perception.
  10. True story: I stopped believing in the Christian God (my parents are Episcopal) around the same time I stopped believing in Santa Claus. I believed in Santa Clause loooong after I stopped believing in a christian god. I was in my car seat when I stopped believing in said god, going over a mountain, trying to understand how exactly all that worked because it didn't make sense, and I told my mom it was making my head hurt, like there was a 'no access door' in my head that I couldn't get past and she told me to stop thinking about it - so I did. At which point, I became somewhat agnostic, with an athiest bent. I remember in 3rd grade quizzing my fellow students on whether or not they believed in god, and when a few of them said they didn't know, I remember proclaiming in glee, "Religion is dying!" Santa Claus, I believed in till 5th grade, when we had kindergarten pals for Christmas and one of the teachers told us, "You all know there is no Santa Claus - but don't go telling the kids that." I was flabbergasted and heartbroken - the possibility he wasn't real just never occurred to me. I remember storming to my mom's car when she picked me up that day, trying not to cry, yelling, "Why didn't you tell me!" Go figure. I guess I've always wanted so badly to believe in aliens or the supernatural or magic - just something outside of the boring every day. Except for religion - because that's always seemed just as improbable to me but not as interesting, yet many people actually sincerely believe in it. I dunno.
  11. Tonight, I was drunk enough to Google that title with some sort of expectation of finding some actual game. In other words, bedtime. DA2. Fucking. I want to go home and play it more. It seems okay to me, if somewhat neutered. Like my poor cat that is left peeing on the walls because that's what he's been left with after the operation. Dark days, sirs. Dark days indeed.
  12. Hey, my negative reaction is tempered by the fact that DA2 is still a good Bioware RPG. Better than Jade Empire, at least. Interesting! You know, I could never get into Jade Empire while it was out on Xbox. I tried twice, playing through the first chapter, and just couldn't dig it. It wasn't till years later I bought it on a Steam sale - and a year and a half later that I've been playing and really enjoying it. Yours is a very fair and unbiased negative reaction. You've tried, you're still enjoying it, you're just disappointed, and rightly so I suppose. I haven't had a chance to give the game its due yet, but I hope to soon. I'll probably still like it, but I am sad that it seems they missed on so many fronts what made Origins such an incredible game. Boo.
  13. I am saddened by all these negative reactions. I still haven't been home much or had a chance to play past the introduction, but I really, really want to love this game. Hopefully Bioware takes note of the fan anger and knocks one out of the park with DAIII... A man can dream, anyway.
