Yeh it's another self-release, but not pay-what-you-want. They're the only band that seems to have adapted to the changing music industry.

Admittedly it helps that they are already hugely successful.

They're the only band that's actually in the "industry" that's doing it anyways.

Also, yes, that's why they have the money to do it this way and that's why it also works out since the fanbase is built in. Either way, plenty of other artists could do the same thing if they pulled out of major labels (but we can assume most are stuck in multi-album contracts.)
