  1. Truxton is a vertical scrolling shooter, it's very fun and I had an addictive stint with it for the longest time. It's pretty tough though. Well worth a go if you've never played it and the genre interests you.
  2. I hope I'm not breaking any rule by bringing back this thread since it hasn't been active in quite some time. Just wanted to add my thoughts. I've flipped flopped over what my favourite retro platform is, lately it's been bouncing around between Megadrive, SNES and Saturn. I have a lot of great memories with the megadrive,it's first where I experienced my love with Mortal Kombat, plus I love Truxton. SNES is actually a more recent love, having only picking up one for a few titles and falling in love with it more than I ever had intended. Notable titles I tend to go back to on it: Battletoads, Killer Instinct and ofc Mario The Saturn is another system that I've just recently been exposed to. It pretty much feeds my love for arcade fighters, so many great ports from arcade appeared on this and at the time it was my only go to for that sort of stuff. I would rank my CMVS up high but the games are far too expensive through the regular channels, so my experience is limited there.
  3. Joined the other day BUT I didn't realise there was an introduction thread xD. Glad to be apart of this board. Primarily a Sony gamer, but I have a bunch of retro systems that range from NES through to consolized MVS and many inbetween. I have a soft spot for the Saturn and Mega Drive in particular but I do hold more love for the SNES than I ever thought I would. I absolutely adore Killer Instinct on it. It's been awhile since I've picked up anything retro. I hope to pick up a Switch soon, I'm a sucker for Mario, Mario Odyssey definitely looks great to me.
  4. I've been listening to a lot of E-40 on shuffle. For some reason until now I have only thought of his as pretty okay. The guy is a beast though. His flow and delivery very unique and flexible.
  5. I was 18 back in 2010, as for what I was playing at the time, I had started my love affair with Fallout 3, blitzed my way through that and the DLCs. Once I completed that I started getting into the Mass Effect series and the way the dialogue options coupled with actual voice over from the main character is what engaged me more than what Fallout had at that point. I loved that this character that I had created had a voice, a personality. It may seem trivial or superficial to some but in those sort of RPG styled games, having that mechanic makes the games more interesting and more involved for me. I tried New Vegas once it came out, because of my love of the 3rd game but it just wasn't enough anymore. Mass Effect did everything better in my eyes.
  6. Dark Cloud was one of my favourites as a kid. I had it twice on PS2 (one time the current PS2 at the time fell with the disc in and it busted up the game ;_; I can't recall what happened to the 2nd copy we had.) I have it now on my PS4, it's still a treat of a game and something I can always go back to. As for the topic at hand, I am currently playing Crash N'Sane. I did go and start with the first game but was losing my hair with it and ultimately ended up taking a break and moving to the second game. Still a bit of a challenge but no where near as painful as the first game. At least not so far. I never really got into Crash as a kid, I was busy playing Mario.
  7. The games I've finished this year so far have been: Resi7, Titanfall 2, Dishonered Definitive Edition, Injustice 2. Resi7 is my GOTY so far. I think that's it so far, I really wanna get my hands on Nier Automata soon. I do have a handful of games that are ongoing though >_>. I tend to do that, have multiple games going at any one time and feel as if they aren't progressing at all! I was never like this when I was younger, maybe because games were more of a luxury for me back then.
  8. Hey all, 2017 hasn't really been a big year for me so far where game purchases are concerned. I've picked up and finished Resi 6 and 7, Crash N'Sane, Injustice 2 and also picked up Horizon Zero Dawn. I quickly got bored of HZD and traded it though. Pretty sure that's all.
