Don't get why everyone on Kotaku is bitching that NBA 2K11 is up for Game of the Year. Just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean it's bad.

Not just this past article, but the article in which it was first announced as a GotY is when most of it took place. I was just drunk when I read it then and never status updated it.

I'd imagine the complaints for it entering GOTY nominations are the same as for Blops which are: What has this done from every other year different enough to warrant it being GOTY?

Because it's the most realistic sports game I've played. People cover you better, people block better, shooting is realistic. In NBA 2K10 and 2K9, you could drive into the paint and dunk the entire game. Now it's realistic in the paint with better physics and better AI.
Plus it has Jordan.
