I've got no way of guaranteeing what my income will be like for years. I could make nothing next month, or hundreds next month (for years). Hence, anything remotely resembling a subscription is a no-no for me. Can't guarantee I can afford it. Guildwars is appealing in that regard.

Combat is hotkey-based, but very fluid. I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's such a bad thing: not every game has to be point and shoot. I'm quite glad there are games like this where the combat focuses on different things, like when to use which ability.
