  1. Just buying my own birthday gift. Don't know when I'll get to it, but the sheer nostalgia and emotion I have for Link's Awakening is strong.
  2. I'm turning 31 this Saturday and all I want for my birthday is a good burger and time to play Monster Hunter.

Come over for a BBQ and beer.

      Happy late birthday!

  3. *looks back at Wii U Pro Controller* I'm not sure about that, but at least it'll always have a home on PC.
  4. $79.99 is how much it is! Honestly, I might be interested in it. There is more to the ring/hoop than lets on, though you're still strapping a single Joy-Con to your thigh.
  5. I feel that way with Borderlands 3. Played the first two all alone on PS3 because everyone else I knew was 360 or PC. For the Pre-Sequel, I played that on PC when everyone else was done with it. Now I've got a good gaming PC and could actually join other people and the thing is Epic Store exclusive for 6 months. Only solace I have is that those who have played it are experience really awful performance, even on PC. Gearbox falling into old habits it seems.
  6. There are some naysayers, but that has been a constant in the anime community since forever. Demon Slayer has been my #2 this season and last. Tanjiro is such an amazing protagonist. He's both skilled and compassionate, even to his fallen foes. He recognizes the pain behind their very inception as they too were once human. Nezuko is cute, but boy howdy does she have a following now.
  7. Looking at the first trailer, I knew it would be an asymmetrical 4 vs 1. I'm not optimistic, but if it's actually fun, then hey!
  8. If you bother to read through some of the collectibles, there's references to Alan Wake. So Control and Alan Wake share the same universe... or reality... or... perception?
  9. Master Rank is not a cake walk, even with Arch Tempered gear and optimal skills. And I both love it and hate it for it. I'm so use to slaying/capturing monsters in around 15 minutes that a quest or expedition pushing me to my limits and making sure I'm prepared is so refreshing. I've had it too easy!
  10. Iceborne today everyone... ICEBORNE TODAY!!!

    1. TCP

Is this an ice themed sequel to Bloodborne?

Well, it does involve Hunters and all manner of deadly Monsters.

  11. So Banjo & Kazooie (how it's said in-game) is kinda... mid-tier at best. And even then, I would say on the lower end of mid-tier. His Side-B is limited to 5 uses per stock. It's a powerful move, but opponents can shield or even grab you out of it. Doesn't feel worth it unless you know the opponent is low on shield and doesn't have a reaching grab. Neutral-B is kind of finicky in that if you hold down B, you're in a gunner mode until you either shield, crouch, or try a special move. Down-B is super situational and can be used against you. I'll still play as him, but he just feels clunky.
  12. So speaking of Switch controllers, how about that SNES controller for the Switch! Comes out Sept. 18 for $30 and exclusive to Nintendo Online members. Of course, that'll be too late what with SNES games coming out tomorrow! Then we get Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury for Smash Ultimate and Banjo-Kazooie is available today! Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for Switch next year. And Jedi Outcast?! So much good came out of this Nintendo Direct.
  13. Sure, I'll post for a third time! Capcom has been spoiling us so much, they thought they'd bring someone in to humble us. And by "humble us" I mean tear us a new one.
  14. Control is my cup of tea, but man does the performance tank when a lot of explosions and particle effects happen. I play it on my PS4 Pro, but it also seems to have some issues on PC too. It does have motion blur and half the time I rather it didn't. Still, I love third person shooters with superhuman abilities. A lot of collectibles that expand on the Federal Bureau of Control and the crazy world/reality of it all. Especially the Threshold Kids... genuinely creeps me out.
  15. I mean, the Pro Controller is one of the best controllers I've ever used, but if you had to go third party. You have two options: PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ Those are the only ones I've heard constant praise for, though since the SN30 Pro+ came out recently, chances are that's the preferred controller now. It's for good reason since you can use it on multiple devices and it's rechargeable. Not to mention the form factor is excellent. The PowerA one requires two AA batteries and can technically work on PC through Steam. So yeah, if I had to choose between the two, it's the SN30 Pro+ for just a tad more money ($49 vs $39). Not to mention it does come in a Game Boy color variant. ?
  16. Lunastra, I love your armor, but you're a pain to fight. Not to mention, crystal burst doesn't seem to be working anymore...

  17. It's practically a Weekend at Bernie's scenario. Two dudes who weren't a part of Telltale bring it back to maybe make some money off of the old IPs and maybe make a game or two from nearly completed assets. Sites are reporting that maybe old Telltale employees can go back, but like, who would want to? Especially when it's not even the same company essentially.
  18. I bought two games lately and they're practically polar opposites. Super Mario Party and Control Mario Party to play something with the GF. That's honestly the primary reason why I finally bought the game. It always looked like a solid party game, but I mean most of the time I would be playing with CPUs. Control was because this game is interesting, reviewed well, and selling out everywhere. Essentially a sleeper hit because there has been so much coverage on tons of games lately, but not a lot on this one. While it's super trippy, its presentation and world-building are insane. Seriously, I grabbed the second to last Standard Edition in the store with only two retail exclusive special editions sitting next to them. Before I entered the store there were some guys excited about finally finding copies of the game in town, so I'm thinking there probably isn't any more copies left after today. It's reminding me of when The Last of Us came out.
  19. Yeah, I don't really feel any sympathy for either company. You'll find people siding with Sony because Disney is "bullying" them, but we're talking about two gigantic corporations fighting over money, nothing more. Like this isn't some kind of holy war where Sony is nobly fighting for Spider-Man. Spider-Man is a cash cow and both Disney and Sony want more out of it. Heck, when Sony was leading the gaming market, they didn't want to play nice with anyone else. It's kind of to be expected of them really.
  20. Monster Hunter: World will be easier to complete the base game's campaign with the introduction of Iceborne. I also like the Hunter Helper feature/program. From time to time I would jump into Low Rank to just help or to try to get a material I was missing when I was going through the campaign. And it's great that they're making certain steps more obvious since you can be lost without a clear way to progress the campaign quests.
  21. If this is truly the end, then the post-credit scene is kinda... dark.
  22. It has been a pain to get myself and my girlfriend in the same quest. I'm wanting to join her to help her through the campaign. Thing is, I haven't played the early game stuff in over 250+ hours (I'm nearly 300 hours), so I can't remember every detail based on chat. Part of it is that her connection is terrible, but even still it's so much easier to hook up with randos than it is your friends. Squads are suppose to be a way to simplify things, which does work for Online Sessions, but feels like a workaround. And Online Sessions being capped at 16 only matters for the Kulve Taroth raid. If you're using an SOS Flare, it's global matchmaking. Granted you can join "Available Quests" which are quests posted by the players in the Online Session. Not unless PC does things different...
  23. This is a FANTASTIC time to get into Monster Hunter World. All the Events are available, and while you may have missed the Spring and Summer festivals, there's still the Autumn and Winter festivals to recap. Though you'd have to speed through a lot of quests to get to a good spot and tackle the events before Iceborne. Though honestly Iceborne is going to mix up quite a bit, so it's not entirely worth stressing if you don't get a certain special item.
