I finished The Three Body Problem. Wow. This book is monumental. It's easy to see why it was so widely heralded. To reveal the crux of why it works so well would be to reveal the plot and spoil the fun. I will just say that there isn't a twist so much as an unraveling or reveal of what is going on and it's done in a way where the other isn't trying to convince us he's clever. The author treats you as the reader with the utmost respect for your intelligence. The book starts out heavy with science rather than fiction to build its mystery and it works very well. I do want to mention that since this is from a Chinese author the translation contains the necessary cultural clues. There's parts of this book that occur during the Chinese Cultural Revolution so in those parts in particular there's a lot of footnotes to give you the proper context. I greatly appreciated this. Highly recommended.

By "normal" do you mean desktop? Desktop HDDs are only rated to run for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. NAS HDDs are meant to be ran 24/7. Seagate desktop drives are shit. So are WD Greens (what I'm replacing) and Blues. Class is what matters and unfortunately WD has a convoluted setup where they have a bunch of different desktop drives. Brand loyalty is a joke. Hell, WD Reds aren't even 7200 RPM and actually aren't that good for multiple people using it at once. Only the Red Pros are. Reds are best suited for media. One of the reasons I'll be switching between HGST and Seagate for my NAS.

It was on sale. I use hand me down WD Green's in my NAS. It was time. This will eventually be part of at (least) a 3/4 disk array. Next one is HGST.

The title is faded on windows that aren't active. Though really looking through what I have installed real fast they all handle window title bars vastly differently.

I listened to Peace Walker tapes after I started playing MGS5 (so I could get some details while at work and away from the game) and Hayter comes off as downright cheesy in comparison. I think overall Kiefer Sutherland does fit better for what I've seen of the tone of this game.
