    This is fucking 2013. Why, when I download a piece of software, does it not automatically give me the most up-to-date version? Making me download a gig of patches minutes after I downloaded the base software is ridiculous.

      It's happened to me on XBLA too, and various websites with programs I wanted (though that now seems less common). Steam seems to have it under control though.

      Steam has it under control to a degree, still has the first time setup. For the most part though Steam is just plonking the files directly onto your PC, as opposed to "installing".
