An unexpected advantage of remote play is that then when I go back to playing on my monitor it looks even extra awesome.

Huh. I heard that the Vita screen makes games look better because the small screen obscures imperfections.

I haven't tried it yet. I'm too busy soaking up the next gen goodness.

It makes it look smoother, but the compression isn't perfect so occasionally there's some artifacting and it loses a lot of definition. It does look very nice on Vita, but it lacks an impressiveness that the larger screen has. It's similar to how I felt when I moved my PC out to the main TV to play Amalur.
