    w00t! Got my Civ VI loading problem fixed. The problem is with Windows Defender.

      Yup. It think WD definitions updated and fucked everyone over. I encountered the problem last night and just happened to notice that WD had been turned itself back on sometime over the weekend, so I switched it back off.

      I didn't turn it off entirely, I just added an exclusion for the Civ VI folder so WD ignores it.

      I use other anti-malware/spyware on my PCs, so I'm not concerned.
