  1. It's especially distasteful considering how bad the original PC port was.
  2. City. It's not even a contest.
  3. We played Pandemic at my friends' last weekend. It's amusing to me just how similar the mechanics are to Forbidden Desert. I knew they were related, but I hadn't realized they were basically identical. It's also amazing how well the same mechanics work with such different themes.
  4. lol, so now we're on to genetically engineered hybrid dinosaurs? Actually, I'm okay with that.
  5. From what I read Amiibos are tied to specific games, so while they'll interact with other games they will only ever do tiny bonuses in them. So like your Link Amiibo is a Smash Amiibo, and can only do anything major in Smash.
  6. From your comment I assume Tony Romo is the Cowboys QB, but I have literally never heard of him before. I watch football games when at my family's houses, and I enjoy them, but I do not follow football.
  7. Because Skylanders. *Edit* - To elaborate, for some reason people are willing to pay $25 for something like that if it's tied to a physical figurine when the exact same thing but $5 and software-only would be considered a bullshit microtransaction.
  8. I can't stand big cities, they're crowded and loud and I can't breathe. They're just... blegh. You won't find me defending Kansas City either though. They done built a skyscraper 7 stories high.
  9. Okay, then the thing I'm really curious about is do they really learn (ie absorb actual information from actual encounters), or is it fake learning (ie they just gain experience points and get progressively better along a fixed path)?
  10. So do they supposedly learn from you, or do they just learn from whoever they fight against, or what?
  11. I still don't really understand how amiibos are supposed to work...
  12. Lol, apparently I keep blocking that information out. It's just too painful.
  13. Once we've got the targets assigned I'll make another thread for wishlists.
  14. Secret Santa thread is open! Get it while it's hot!

  15. JUNE?! WHAT HAPPENED TO FEBRUARY?!
  16. My hierarchy is basically how culturally similar to Kansas I perceive the places the teams are from to be. So Texas is more like Kansas than New York is, Colorado beats Texas, etc. Obviously Kansas City beats everybody.
  17. Alright, since the Steam Fall Sale is starting in two days I figured it would be a good time to get this party started. If you want in just post in here. Rules: Digital gifts only, typically Steam since it's the easiest to mess around with wishlists and gifting on. Other services/gift cards are fine though. Make sure your Steam wishlist/other wishlists are up to date. Suggested price of $10, though under or over is not against the rules. What this means is, don't expect a $60 gift--if your Santa gets you a $5 gift that's on your wishlist, that's all he's required to do. But if you're feeling ultra-rich or ultra-generous, we won't thumb our noses at higher priced presents. Multiple gifts are fine. Gifting period will officially commence alongside the Steam Winter Sale, typically the middle of December. You can gift earlier though if you find a killer deal. Gifting deadline will be on or around the end of the Steam sale. If you don't get your gift by then, message me. No brand new members (signing up after this message) unless I or another mod approves you. Deadline to sign up is this Friday, November 28. I'll message everybody their targets in the AM (GMT -6) of the 29th. Have fun!
  18. It's basically entirely a geographical proximity thing. Watching a game is no fun if you're not rooting for one team or the other, and New York is gross. None of us are actually Cowboys fans though.
  19. Did the defender tip it? It's too blurry to tell what exactly happens just before the catch.
  20. In the universe where you're playing with the tactical view as God intended.
  21. Nope, it's set by the game developer. Speaking of which, I was remotely playing Dragon Age from my parents' house last night. I was shocked that there's basically no more latency than when I'm playing from the living room of my own house.
  22. Yeah, we saw that last night, it was pretty amazing. We were all rooting for the Cowboys, and even we rewound it and watched it like 4 or 5 times, and were just like "wow, he's awesome." It's autoplaying for me.
  23. I think it's this part. I don't think you'll find anyone who will claim that the RPG mechanics of 1 didn't have some serious issues, it's just that they went way too far the other way with 2. IMO 3 strikes a really good balance.
  24. I'm sitting about 10 feet from a 47" and at that distance I can't even tell it's not a 1080p stream. There are occasional compression artifacts, but for the most part the picture quality is fantastic.
  25. Okay, this is pretty badass. Destiny is pretty hard due to the latency, but Shadow of Mordor is great, so I think as long as a game isn't super twitchy remote play should work wonderfully.
