  1. We have a lot of Zelda topics, about a lot of Zelda games... Both DS games have their own topic, we have a topic for 3D Zelda games and modern Zelda games, even a topic for Zelda continuity.. But we lack a generic, all purpose, everyday Zelda thread. Well that changes now. Use this thread to discuss your favorite Zelda temple, post Link's Awakening music, and talk of the future of Zelda games.
  2. http://www.giantbomb.com/the-new-battle-system-in-pokemon-black-white/17-3722/ Didn't see a thread about this. I was expecting the games to be good, the usual Pokemon game but didn't expect this, seems they are going all out for the last DS Pokaymans. Proper Sprite animations in battles look great. I'm just impressed its actually getting released FIRST in Europe! Take that America!
  3. Is anyone excited about this game? I've been trying not to spoil it too much for myself but it seems to have a decent enough amount of new ideas and content to avoid accusations of just being the same game rereleased on a different format. I like that it seems easier to visit other people's villages, including strangers. I'm hoping the download is not too stupidly priced because it's open-ended I think it will benefit from being able to pop in and out while leaving a more completable game in the game slot. I've got to think of a decent name for my village as I was a bit boring last time just using the name of the village where I live.
  4. Since no one I know has a 3DS, it might be a good idea to exchange friend codes with you fine fellows. Mine is 5455 - 9396 - 5192 Feel free to add me, so far the game I have is Super Street Fighter IV. EDIT: I have more 3DS games at this point. I also have a Wii U... surprise surprise my username is the_cowboy_poet.
  5. We didn't have a Smash thread? Well, it seems like only yesterday I was browsing the Smash Bros. website, late at night, waiting for the reveal of a character entering the roster for Brawl. NOW WE CAN DO THAT AGAIN! Discuss, so on, and so on. For example: Wow, there's actually going to be a Smash Bros handheld game! or Donkey Kong might be losing more than his bananas...
  6. Nintendo has a proven track record when it comes to 3D. But seriously, I'm predicting strong sales and due to the strange new parralax screen I'm predicting short supply so, who's putting one up on ebay? I probably should.
  7. What better time than right now to start a Persona thread. A whole bunch of Persona projects have just been outed! Firstly, Persona 4: The Golden is coming to PS Vita. A port of the original ps2 game with additions such as 1.5 times the voice work of the original, new opening movie and anime sequences and even a new character. Secondly, a Persona 4 fighter is in the works for arcades, and then ps3 and 360. It will feature characters from both Persona 4 and 3 and apparently continue the Persona 4 story, two months after the events that happened in that game. Lastly, basic preperations for Persona 5 are apparently complete, with all the series regular staff on the project, including the awesome Shoji Meguro, composer for the Persona series (and also for Catherine!) I'm a huge Persona fan, so I'm stoked about pretty much all of this stuff. The fighter will be interesting, I just hope it gets localised, it sounds very niche. Having said that, Atlus are usually very good at localising their in-studio projects, so I'm optimistic.
  8. Alright, we're getting started a little late this year, but let's do this! Mine: Microsoft Halo 2 Anniversary for Xbone, possibly as part of the Master Chief Anthology (Halo 1, 2, 3 & 4 all ported to Xbone) Price cut for 360 Boring TV boringness Hopefully more info about the June Xbone update, especially taking out a lot of the interface weirdnesses cause by Kinect (particularly the fact that you can't even use Upload Studio at all without Kinect attached). Sony The Last Guardian for PS4! (Hey, I can dream...) More info about Uncharted 4 More info about Gravity Rush 2 Possible price cut for PS3 Rime Vita TV North America! Nintendo Blah blah, Wii U's still good, blah blah Way more focus on 3DS than I care about Probably no Zelda anything Smash Bros Other Some kind of Mass Effect reveal New Red Dead on next-gen More Mirror's Edge info? AC: Unity and whatever the last-gen AC is (Comet?) - I predict that these will actually be highly related games, similar to how Splinter Cell: Double Agent had a Gen 6 and Gen 7 version, but they weren't ports, they were actually constructed separately. Dragon Age info, obvs And whatever else I think of later and decide to add
  9. Introducing the 2DS: http://kotaku.com/introducing-the-nintendo-2ds-no-thats-not-a-typo-1214807721 Hilarious. I thought the 3DS was doing well; why the need for this awful budget version?
  10. So it looks like the 3DS is gonna be $169 after August 12 and that Ninty lost a bunch of money this past quarter: http://www.dailytech.com/Nintendo+Announces+Poor+Q1+Earnings+Offers+3DS+Price+Cut+After+Weak+Sales/article22282.htm Makes sense to me. The 3DS is riddled with problems. First of all, most adults have smartphones that suffice as mobile entertainment platforms. That market is likely lost to Ninty. The current market for the 3DS is fanboys and nostalgia gamers willing to drop $300 to play Ocarina of Time again. And while those markets are well-represented on the Internet, they won't make a platform profitable. But the 3DS has a big market in children. But parents don't wanna pay $250 in this economy for a platform that seems like it's merely the cheaper DS plus a 3D gimmick. Ninty's marketing strategy doesn't do enough to differentiate the DS and 3DS as separate platforms. Ninty had better take a good long look at this issue before it ramps up the Wii U marketing campaign, or it will be another, potentially larger, bloodbath.
