CorgiShinobi
And I have officially pre-ordered KZ3. Now just to figure out how to get sound through my headset... All of the audio? I'm not sure on that, but... Obviously you go to "Accessory Settings > Manage Bluetooth Devices" for a Bluetooth headset. In the individual game is where you'll find headset options. LittleBigPlanet (1/2) has great audio options for headsets. However, the only thing I've been seeing in the KZ3 Beta is volume percentages. Perhaps if "Headset" is at 100% and everything else is 0%?

The issue is hardware related - you need the original AV cables. However, I found one tip that said if you have a headphone jack, you should be able to plug in there and get audio - I'm going to try that the next time I'm home. Still, thanks for the tips! CorgiShinobi
Ah, gotcha. My headset is Logitech and has a USB adapter. Otherwise it uses Mic and Headphone jacks, so I can use it on a PC and my PS3!
Mal
Guys, don't leave me in the dust. ;_; And I personally have the most trouble in Assassination on the attackers side. I don't think I ever gotten close to the target. So many ISA scum to kill to get to the man!
CorgiShinobi
Guys, don't leave me in the dust. ;_; And I personally have the most trouble in Assassination on the attackers side. I don't think I ever gotten close to the target. So many ISA scum to kill to get to the man! Oh man, I forgot to say this last night. I think it was one of our matches, but anyway I was the target on our team. I got halfway and died, right? The reason for that was because no one was guarding me! I was able to take down one of my attackers, but an Engineer came up from behind and got me with a shotgun. Seriously, the best defense is to have Engineers and Medics. Engineers will create turrets as both a defense and alarm. Medics can save your target because even when the target is mortally wounded, the round continues on until the target is beyond revival. I had a few matches in Killzone 2 where the target "survived" the round when the last few seconds were actually of him mortally rounded, but that's pure luck. Depending of the level, it might be good to have a Marksman or Tactician (again, as defense and alarm). An Infiltrator merely as alarm and only if said Infiltrator has a headset to vocalize the alarm. After so many lost Assassination (Defend) rounds, I've had time to think this through. I have a feeling that Killzone 3 piracy will be largely a non-issue. As it did in the start, and as it still stands today even with the key out, the monumentally huge capacity of Blu-Rays is gonna prove a factor in folks grabbing these games. TheForgetfulBrain
IMO, piracy for consoles, for the average gamer (like myself) is too complicated to bother with. That's why piracy is so common for the PC, it seems - it's so easy to do for the average person.
Strangelove
Pirating on pc is so damn easy that its very hard to resist. Hackers and people who upload the games and applications do all the work for the average pc user. You dont have to fuck with your pc in any way, the games are pretty much already cracked or they come with a code generator. Its so damn easy. Consoles are another thing entirely. Wii being the easiest one followed by the psp. Theyre not difficult for me or people like me who know a thing or 2 about pc, but it if it involves a bit of work a lot of people wont bother. Shit, some people pay other people to do it for them. Also 40 gb is ridiculous. Im never doing that shit. Itd take me maybe about 3 or 4 days of nonstop downloading. Its not worth it for me. Not to mention that i have no flashdrive that big to transfer it over to my measly 160 gb ps3. Multiplat games are fucked though. Even on ps3 theyre always 360 sized. A real shame. People download PS3 games all the time. These people have plenty of time. It beats spending money to them. They are certainly willing to wait, willing to tinker, etc to get free games. People may assume oh PS3 games are too big to pirate, but that just isn't the case at all. Infact some are quite small, smaller than some PS2 games. Mercurial
The average pirate wont bother cause that is fucking massive and some people have download caps anyways.
deanb
Yeah, that'd take Excel 2 months to grab while keeping under the limit As Hakidia said, it's the casual folks it turns off. You can't stop the hardcore pirates, but as long as the casual folks are turned off they'll probably give in and buy your game.

toxicitizen
Well, I got my Move Navigation controller today, so I should give the beta another shot later on. That is, if I can manage to turn on my PS3 and not launch Red Dead right away. It's slow to start, but so damn good.
TheForgetfulBrain
I got my PS3 A/V cord in the mail today, so that means, theoretically, I should be able to finally get game sound AND chat sound through the headset - yay! Mal
Looks like we got at least 3 folks besides me that will get it at or near launch. It makes me less resistant... alright. I won't fail Helgod or whoever he is and that guy on the intercom.
CorgiShinobi
I'm telling you, if Rico dies, I'll capture/record it and put it on YouTube. Heck, the Helghan that does the deed will be my new avatar.
SomTervo
Just tried the singleplayer demo last night, and it instantly sold me the game. I love how it often feels like proper Aliens-style Marine combat, more than anything else I've played (most notably the bit when everyone lands from the intruders into the big open battlefield at the end of the demo. I've managed to keep 4-5 marines alive to the end of that fight).

Moist definitely, though unfortunately due to time/money constraints I may not be able to play/buy the game for a week or two. I'll let you know WHAT HAPPEN. Sindo
Well a few people on my hall are buying it. Looks like I'll be getting it too. Gotta use my experience from the beta to destroy them.
