TheMightyEthan
I figured out what it is about the controls in Bioshock 1 that made it feel so bad to me: there's way too much look acceleration. With a controller if I turn the look sensitivity up high enough to where I can make small adjustments at the right speed then after a half-second of holding the stick it's going way too fast, and with a mouse acceleration is just altogether wrong to start with. Trying to fix it now.

TheMightyEthan
I actually found a different fix that doesn't get reset every time you launch the game: You can comment out several lines in the DefUser.ini and this seems to help a great deal. I wouldn't say that this will make it feel as smooth as Quake or Counterstrike, but it should make the game playable. Note: to comment out a line put a ; (semicolon) in front of it. Aliases[6]=(Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=+25.0",Alias=LookUp) Aliases[7]=(Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=-25.0",Alias=LookDown) Aliases[8]=(Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=-40.0",Alias=TurnLeft) Aliases[9]=(Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=+40.0",Alias=TurnRight) Aliases[20]=(Command="Axis aLookUp SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=+300.0",Alias=KeyLookUp) Aliases[21]=(Command="Axis aLookUp SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=-300.0",Alias=KeyLookDown) Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseX SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=-480.0",Alias=KeyTurnLeft) Aliases[23]=(Command="Axis aBaseX SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=+480.0",Alias=KeyTurnRight) Fixed it for both the controller and the mouse. Although I just did it in the User.ini in the AppData folder, it still seems to carry over between sessions. Waldorf and Statler
So I just reached Comstock's house. Let me just say this for the entire sequence of events before it FUCK. THE SIREN. AND. HER. CHEAP. FUCKING. REVIVE. ANYTHING. I. FEEL. LIKE. MOVES Besides that I love the relationship of Booker and Elizabeth The cliche character fights and things of the sort work perfectly since Elizabeth hasn't had contact with anybody from the outside so it makes sense her reactions are as such
deanb
Regarding spoiler: Wait what? The Siren is a building/device, not an enemy. Something that appears on Hard maybe?
Waldorf and Statler
Wait seriously? I mean I've been playing on Hard sure but you need to fight her three times with the first being the most unfair due to the terrain/locale being entirely in their favor. It should be in the story considering it was the ghost of elizabeth's mom. deanb
Ohhhhh now I get what you mean. Yeah she's not "The Siren", that threw me. She's Lady Comstock. ...not Elizabeths mum. And yes it's a PITA.

I believe she's labelled as the "Siren" in the subtitles but, I don't remember her being called that anywhere else in the game. Seems they originally intended for her to be a more common enemy type I've been listening to this for the past 3 days wondering what to play next.... may just replay the game on 1999 mode https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=0e4Crth_Hb8
Waldorf and Statler
Ehhhh. No. They called her Siren in the enemy name. I mean not Booker or Elizabeth. http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Siren Edited April 1, 2013 by Waldorf And Statler
Saturnine Tenshi
Oh, guess that was her name in-game. Banshee makes more sense. Edit: Also, that song, Crowknow. :< Edited April 1, 2013 by Saturnine Tenshi

Waldorf and Statler
So uh just beat the game. The one thing confusing me is Was the Booker that drowned at the end supposed to represent every single Booker? Because killing the ONE Booker that didn't do the baptism doesn't really make much sense since there are many realities so killing one of them wouldn't stop the others from continuing with it. And while the ending is by no means an uplifting/inspirational one like the good ending in Bioshock 1 or 2 I feel it was well done and satisfying. I mean I'm sad it didn't end with rainbows and butterflies like B1 but I'll live with it. deanb
I think it's meant to be the "original" Brooker, though given we know all he's gone through it clearly isn't so it's just one of those moments where we just nod and smile at Ken Levine and ignore that glaring issue. I'm just about to start a new game and eventually I'll need somebody to kill the spiders while I sit in the corner and cry like a little girl. Plus it's literally a 1999 release. Waldorf and Statler
I actually beat that boss the first time by doing a very odd idea. I used that upgrade that gives you invulnerability when you eat something, got her close to me, took one, and stood in front of her shooting my sniper zoomed in. Rinse and repeat. Took me like 2-3 deaths though. Don't even get me started on the final battle. If somebody here hasn't beaten the final battle and is looking for suggestions here's mine: Electric traps in near bottom. Sniper the smaller grunts. Push the rocket guys off the ship. And Continuously shock the patriots while you shoot them until you have Songbird again to get rid of a lot of baddies. As to Songbird I made the mistake of trying to not use him for floor baddies but the combination of floor to ship, floor to zeppelin, floor to zeppelin, floor to zeppelin, floor to ship seems to have worked. Mister Jack
I tried playing the original System Shock recently but fuck those controls.
Saturnine Tenshi
Final battle gave me no trouble on hard. Zilch. But fuck. But fuck. The handyman battle when you first arrive in the final area (banshee-siren area). I must have died like 15 times there. That handyman just kicked my ass. He even spawn killed me once. I spawned and he just punched me in the face. I managed the final battle through gratuitous use of possession on the anti-patriots/explosive-carrying enemies. Used Songbird exclusively for the ships. CorgiShinobi
Finished the game, though maybe I should have taken a break before the final fight. I goofed up and a quirk of mine is that I tend to not feel like I've earned a game's ending. With how much more open the environment can be in Infinite, as opposed to the previous games, it can be a challenge finding enemies (especially when they blend in) until they begin damaging you. I'm not too surprised at the ending. Given that this is "infinite." And Dean is far more accurate in interpreting the conclusion. However, I enjoyed it all because I don't think I could look at the game with a straight face if Comstock began hulking out on Vigors, ala Fontaine and ADAM. Ending a game with an explanation where two individuals are the same, but not, because of a result involving a scientist discovering her male alternative, and so forth, and so forth. There are constants and there are variables. The person will always be the person, but their decisions are the variables. They can not become someone from a different land from a different time. The few times we have a reference to the original BioShock is either homage or simply fan service. Elizabeth didn't need to send us to Rapture's Welcome Center, but to defeat Songbird, water pressure (remember the first encounter) is a good means. Now of course Songbird and Vigors were inspired by Rapture's technology as Jeremiah Fink would use tears to make these advances for Columbia. There's already a lot that has been said, so I'm not sure what else to add. I really tried to keep an eye out for voxophones, and I knew I probably would have missed a few, but I think I missed a dozen. Do these carry over for trophies? I got real close to the machine gun 150 enemy one at the end, but now I'm going into 1999 mode. I honestly don't know if I can get that Scavenger trophy though after the "Siren" fight. Oh, and favorite Vigors would have to be Return to Sender, Shock Jockey, and (eventually) Possession. My two favorite pieces of Gear: Rising Bloodlust and Angry Stompers. The first one increases weapon damage after a kill (up to five times), though to stack it, kills have to be done within 10 seconds. The last one doubles damage when health is low (which it always was at the end). EDIT: It's Booker. Mr. DeWitt, though he prefers to be called Booker.
