deanb
I should probably give this a spin at some point, I've had the beta downloaded for a month now. If it's going to be open beta I guess we could make an event of it in the new year.
MetalCaveman
Played a bit today, siege mode is fun, haven't tried any other mode yet. It seems like it'll take a long LONG time to get enough points to get new mechs/upgrades. It would be cool if we could get a group going but I don't know what server would be good for that. I'm playing on US West and I've had no problem with lag, not yet at least.
MetalCaveman
Apologies for the double post. http://www.playhawken.com/frostburn/ Winter/Christmas event for Hawken. Also, double Hawken points every weekend until 2013.
TheMightyEthan
It's not a double post if they're a week apart.
Baconrath
I've been playing this a lot lately. It's pretty fun, although with my internet sometimes its like when played Halo 3 before I learned how to open the NAT. Also I named my Vanguard "Slightly Faster Turtle" because that's what it is. deanb
I wouldn't mind getting into this some more. I know a couple folks have been playing and a few more with an interest.
MetalCaveman
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/10/02/hawken-shutting-down-pc-servers-in-2018/ PC Version shtting down in 2018. Last time I played, one of the big updates had just been released and the way it changed gameplay made me not want to play. They had changed the feel of the mechs to the point were it felt like just another FPS game, there was no weight to the movement, nor any other indication that you were piloting some giant machine of destruction, after that I mostly forgot about it until today. Seems like it had some serious development issues, changing hands multiple times and whatnot.
deanb
It's a bit funny on it's demise given that in this day and age it'd make a pretty dang decent VR game.
Baconrath
It did pretty well for being abandoned twice over but I feel like the nonsense with the database wherein a lot of players lost progress for no reason was a kicker. rip my Incinerator ;_;)
