Bouchart
For those that would like to give Roguelikes a try, here are some fun, popular ones with a lot of documentation: Nethack www.nethack.org A difficult roguelike with a fairly generic medieval fantasy theme. It's known as the game where "the dev team thinks of everything." For a beginner, a melee class like the barbarian or the valkyrie is recommended. It's fairly linear in structure. Ancient Domains of Mystery www.adom.de Another medieval fantasy roguelike akin to Nethack. It's somewhat less linear, but a bit more difficult if you don't know what you are doing. It's easy to learn the basics with a melee character but a ranged or caster character is more likely to win. The Doom Roguelike Mhttp://doom.chaosforge.org/ Based off the classic game Doom, the Doom Roguelike is probably the easiest roguelike to learn, but it's difficult to actually win. Take your time and move slowly with this one. Lighting fast reflexes get you killed here. Elona http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Elona_Wiki A quirky Japanese roguelike that's largely self-parody. It's highly nonlinear and in many ways a freeform game. Beginners should try a melee or ranged character over magic. Also, don't choose Snail as your starting race unless you just want to die.
