You, uh, didn't understand what I said.

Rick, a.k.a. Andrew Lincoln, emotes quite awkwardly at first. To me it almost came off like he had a mocking tone, but then when into sobbing. EDIT: This is about acting, not plot/character.

And watch Lori's birth again. Lori eventually gets Maggie to go with cutting her open, but Carl didn't stop Maggie. He says, "No, I can't... She's my mother." Maggie handed Carl the gun because she couldn't finish it.

But hey, I'm just being weird here. Maybe others can weigh in on this, but after watching the episode twice, that's how it looked.

What the fuck were you watching?

Carl stops Maggie from getting the gun and says "No. She's my mother. I should do it." or something very similar to that.

No Chewie, that was not said at all.

The way I saw it, Maggie backed off. Some are saying she was giving Carl "privacy," but there was no indication that Carl wanted to commit the act himself other than saying what would happen if left unchecked.

EDIT: So I wasn't alone.

Serious, every time the camera turns to her, it's a near constipated pout. Sure, she had her badass scene, but then reverted back to one-dimension.

Not much to really discuss about the episode, other than Daryl has cemented himself as my all-time favorite character for the series. Well... I guess there was Rick's

foreseen descent that makes him use a telephone as a coping mechanism as he "talks" to Lori.

And Woodbury's little sporting event was messed up, but we all knew Woodbury was messed up anyway.

I missed the first few after the season break, but I'm remembering to watch it on Sundays now.

We're catching barn syndrome again in the show. It's suppose to be engaging on a character level, but it's so ridiculous how indecisive half the cast can be, and how there's always a lead up to something big, but it has to be put on hold until who knows when. It's like walkers/zombies don't play a role in the series anymore, not to mention they must have mystical ninja stealth if walkers can pop up five feet beside you.

I was kinda hoping that the Governor storyline would be resolved in the finale, but it seems we'll need to wait until the next season to get closure on that. Oh well. He's not exactly much of a threat anymore seeing that he gunned down all his own people so I'm not sure what they intend to do with him from here.

Also, Carl is turning into a little psychopath.

I caught the first two episodes of season 4.  I don't know if it's because of new writers, a bigger budget, or just plain growing balls, but they really seemed to have upped the gore compared to the first three seasons.  In the first two episodes alone there are all kinds of nasty, gruesome (but very impressive) effects going on.  I saw a zombie hang from a ceiling by its own intestines.  That's a new one for me.
