「Advent Chaos」
Wow this is a highly entertaining thread, also very educational. I'm planning to get a roomie when I move out in the following months, the great thing is I know the guy for a good while and he's no trouble at all, we don't share a LOT of our tastes, but we get each other. We both have PS3s and 360s so I'm lookin' forward to how that will turn out in the future c: Hopefully we can get to be closer friends since we (he) don't talk a lot. He's dying to move out from the current roomates he has, always partying, drunk and "buff" assholes who have tried to beat the living shit out of him. My other friend (who's closer to me) also had a horrible experience with roomies, he always tells me even if it's a good friend of mine it's bound to end up in a disaster, I'm hoping I can prove him wrong. Any ground rules or anythin' like that I should look forward to setting up?
Enervation
Well, as you can probably judge from this thread... Lay down ground rules. And set them straight with it. No beating around the bush, no "oh I'll just warn him this time!" If you're the one in charge of the room, or in charge of a certain item, make sure they know the rules about it. If you and your friend 'get each other,' that's nice. Pretty hard to find in itself. However, you also have to take into account any guests your friend might bring over. It helps to familiarize yourself with the type of people your friend hangs out with (not like meet them, but have a bit of knowledge about who they are). Also, some habits one of you guys may have, may not sit so well with the other, so it's pretty important to let each other know about your annoyances as you go along. CorgiShinobi
My other crazed roommate has called me and some of my friends "wiggers." I merely suggested that there might be something on BET because me and my old roommates occasionally watched the channel. Supposedly, any white person who watches any black entertainment is a "wigger" in his mind's eye. I probably shouldn't be surprised that today he has joined the ranks of the "Birthers." CorgiShinobi
What's even more ridiculous is that we're (my roommates and I) not all white. I guess only black people can watch black entertainment. I wonder, if I were to watch anime, if he'd say that I can't because I'm not Asian. CorgiShinobi
I've held this is for a long time, but I must have an outlet for the verbal diarrhea that I'm about to eject onto cyberspace. The one roommate (I talk about 99% of the time I talk about my roommates) is incapable of being anything that closely resembles a "responsible adult." Rather than creating paragraphs upon paragraphs of every moment he proves to be a meaningless mass of flesh, I provide some digestible points. - His clothing finds its way around every corner of the common living space, i.e. socks in the hallway. - He leaves garbage in the shower, like for today there happened to be a fabric softener sheet. (This might be a part of his paper fetish.) - He doesn't throw away wrappers, boxes, and various food "containers" when they're empty. There's nothing like a freezer filled with empty boxes and wrappers strategically placed on the entire surface of the kitchen table. - I've said this before, but it's a constant problem: He pees on and/or around the toilet. Perhaps it's the fact that most of the time he uses the bathroom sans lights. Oh, and I know this because he'll leave the door open from time to time. - He can't cook anything, even ramen. Now, that's not to say he doesn't make the food, it's just that he can't follow the instructions on the packaging. If you smell a burning smell, it's most likely him "cooking." - Sings pop songs out loud and is perhaps the worse singer I have ever heard in my LIFE! - He might not talk to you the entire day, but he'll most certainly stare at you for extended periods of time. - He's an asshole to children. My only decent roommate had his sister and her kids stop by for a quick visit. One of her kids, a three year-old girl, walks in thinking it's her uncle's room. Instead she's greeted to some disgusting slob who yells, "What the hell are you doing here! Get out!" Maybe you think he has some right as it is his private living space, but you see it didn't end there. He proceeded to chase her out of his room until she hid behind the living room couch. - Probably the one thing that is the worst anything about him is that even when you confront him about these problems, his response will either be 1) "Well, you know..." or 2) "I don't know..." - Also, I have reason to believe he shaves his pubic hairs whilst seated on the toilet. It would explain his two razors and how one male couldn't shed that much hair in two weeks. To summarize, I'm typically a calm, tolerant, collected, and understanding individual. For once in my life, I have experience the sensation of utter disgust and revulsion towards a human life. I don't like it, but usually the feeling escapes me when he commits another act of failure. excel_excel
Jesus Christ Atomsk. I mean. Dear God. That just....words fail me. That dude sounds.....just awful. Awful. I mean my God I'm feeling ill just reading it. How in the blue hell do you put up with that shit?

Enervation
You should run it by whoever owns the place, Atomsk. I'm sure they'd be GLAD to see how their apartment is being treated.
「Advent Chaos」
Yeah, how did this happen? Did god suddenly say "Dohohoho I'm going to make Atomsk's life miserable, TEE HEE"? Can't you vote to kick him the fuck out? Maybe find another decent person out there who would like to be an awesome roomie *cough cough*. CorgiShinobi
I've mentioned this before in status updates, but supposedly he's moving out in June. I'm not sure when, but he has said he'll move out to room with his brother. Our apartment is quite expensive, so it makes sense that his parents would like to cut costs for rent and everything else he doesn't pay for, i.e. everything! Oh, I also forgot since this began yesterday, but he has a spitting habit. He spits in the garbage, the sink, his plates, cups, and I'm assuming he probably does it in the shower too. It kinda makes me want to puke.

deanb
Ah I said I had a bit to put in here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2066351/Photos/IMG_20110527_143818.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2066351/Photos/IMG_20110527_143824.jpg So yeah that's what Chris left us with when he left on Friday. It's the bedding we're most confused about. It was a bank holiday so today is the day to swing by landlords place n see if they can come around n clear it up.
CorgiShinobi
Well, things got quite dramatic tonight. I've talked with my other roommates as an outlet, but it pretty much dissolves into gossip. I don't like that at all, but the amount of frustration and uncleanliness I've experienced explains my behavior. Dude totally confronted me and another roommate in the hall and almost had an emotional breakdown. I won't lie, I kinda worried for my well-being tonight. I preemptively brought a baseball bat (left over from previous residents) into my room since, honestly, I wasn't sure how he would handle the emotional stress. Before I went to bed he caught me at my door... ... and wanted to talk. A while later, after going through everything I've written to you guys (well, not the singing bit), we've hopefully come to an understanding. Only time will show if what we talked about has stuck. If anything, I'd like it if he cleaned up his piss.
「Advent Chaos」
Metal or wood bat? If the latter spike that bitch up with some hammer nails. Emotionally unstable people are always a peril, no matter how week or harmless they may seem. Even though you two may have come to an agreement that hopefully stuck to him, is he still moving out in the next months?

CorgiShinobi
Even though you two may have come to an agreement that hopefully stuck to him, is he still moving out in the next months? It's probably a good thing me and him talked this over last night, because when I mentioned him moving, he said he wasn't sure he would be. To me, now familiar with his dialogue, that translates to, "I've been really lazy and can't be bother with it when I can watch terrible television shows that were cancelled for good reason." Before the "talk," I told him to clean the dishes and he gave me, "Well, it has to be on my time schedule" as an excuse. With all the time he wastes, I was about to chew him out for such a pathetic lie.

RockyRan
If it doesn't work out call the circus and say you've got something for them. Don't tell them what, and be sure to not be there when they come over. Leave the door unlocked and let them follow the trail of paper, floor piss, and half-shaven pubes. They oughta find him in less than 20 seconds.
